C section OR Natural? Help!

I wanted a natural birth with my first because even if you tear, you can get up and walk round straight after, pick your baby up out the cot with ease, you can drive whenever you feel ready and go about your business a lot sooner. Yes you may have some stitches and things may be uncomfortable for a while but it's manageable for most.

I had emergency c section so it all went out the window! Recovery was awful for me especially when it's not planned and you've gone through Labour first! I couldn't even sit up without assistance or put my own pants on for a week  you need loads of help from your partner and family for up to 6 weeks and if you try to get back into doing housework etc. too soon then you run the risk of it taking even longer for the incision to close properly which happened to me.

My advise would be if you want a c section, plan it! Emergency c sections = longer recovery. But if you want a natural birth which will always be better for recovery, be aware that it may still end up becoming a c section.

All the best :dust:

Actually I think they can both be brilliant or both be shitty. My delivery was vaginal with epidural and ended up being a forcep delivery with bad tearing. My recovery time was about 3 month and for the first couple of weeks my hubby had to help with every little thing as all I could do was lay on my side x
