Hi, had to go to the hospital last night as there was blood in my water after using the loo.. I had a scan; and baby hasn't turned...

I have to go back in three weeks for a scan to see if baby has turned and if not they will try and manually turn baby, or I may have to have a C Section... I was like.. out of all the things I didn't want a C Section and epidural was one thing I did not want...I was like noooo...

Baby is fine and actually the evening turned out good and I am glad we went; afterwards the MW who we saw on arrival, who told me babies head was engaged, when after the scan was to be found not engaged at all..

then came in to the room after completing notes and said 'oh all good then' I said well yeah, but baby is breeched so have to come back. 'Oh' she said 'I thought baby was engaged'. With that she then climbed on to the bed and said 'excuse bum' and got herself in to a doggy position (on knees, bum in air and head laying on the bed) 'you need to do this' she said 'and baby will turn around' (like a dog on heat position)...

I looked at her in her doggy position on the hospital bed that I had just had my internal on, with arse in the air and thought 'have I jumped from a hospital in to a sexy movie here' and my partner said he tried to maintain eye contact while her arse was in the air and he even wondered why she reacted like that, it was odd.. I said 'oh gravity' and she got up..

I looked at my OH and he was trying not to smile; on the way out my OH said
' I can't work out why you would need to be in that position to get baby to turn around' I said ' I think she was a little sexually inhabited' and told him I am going to buy him a Burka to cover up his gorgeousness...

I understand positioning etc; but it seemed a very random and unprovoked reaction in my opinion.. I said I hope she is not at the birth, not sure I could cope with the entertainment... was a funy night... but am glad we went there as I know where I am with baby now... :dust:

Lol she sounds funny!

My little one was back to back/breech for ages too. Had a scan yesterday and hes finally turned and in a good position so i wouldnt worry about c sections and stuff just yet :) x

He still has time to move around so I wouldn't worry too much!! The midwife sounds very interesting lol! xx

Thats my fear too having to have a c section and stuff. My baby hasn't turned yet either :( hopefully soon though. As for the midwife, she sounds like a right hoot, I would have been in stitches!! I'd love someone like that whlie I was in labour, would make the time go faster if I had someone crazy to laugh at.. lol.

Ladies, ladies. My bubs is breech and I'm having her by c section tomorrow. I've only had about a weeks notice and my advice would be to try and get your head around the possibility of a c section now just in case. It wasn't my choice of birth but hey you know what? Some people choose to have one! The main thing is getting baby out safely so try not to worry too much. They don't let breech babies go overdue and usually deliver early...so every cloud has a silver lining!!!

xx

I think I will be booked in for a c section if baby hasn't turned soon after the scan... I do hope I don't see the MW again though... she was a bit odd lol... !!!

You're midwife sounds amazingly strange! They haven't even tried to manually turn my baby cos she's measuring very big but also my consultant said that not everyone likes to try it as it can distress baby. You'll be fine. My worst nightmare was an injection in my back and a c section but you know what, I'm coming round to the idea and I get to meet my little lady tomorrow!

xx
