Breastfeeding - Question for new mums

Lansinoh , don't bother on the other creams, that stuff is amazing!!! take it to hosp in your bag and use it after every feed, (no washing off required), and your nipples will be fine, You will only need one tube, but I got two one for the lounge and one for upstairs, and both were not finished, I stopped using them at 4 mths , boobs were quite happy then, and I fed till baby was 12 mths and on cows milk.

In hosp after my section, I couldn't do it, holding baby across tummy just didn't feel right, the midwifes kept saying they would come back and show me (I had 3 other kids and I was a first time BF mum this time, so kept reminding them), they never came back, so I decided to muddle through myself till I got home on day 4. I held him like a rugby ball under my arm and did it that way. My mum said it looked really awkward, but I wanted to be home to work on the other way myself, and it was fine. At home I had the BF pillow (wow brilliant things!!)

I think If I hadn't totally had my mind set on thats what I was going to do this time, I would have given up, don't buy any bottles

First two weeks were the hardest. Very sore nipples. Make sure you have some nipple cream as it oes help. But once I got through those two weeks, it got easier. I was having a doubtful moment a day or so ago but I think I'm just under alot of stress at the moment. Today I feel much different. I'm so glad I'm breast feeding. It's by rewarding! Knowing my son is growing purely because of me. It's so lovely and a nice way to bond. I've expressed a few times too so hubby can feed. It's just so easy and convenient. No sterilising. No preparing. Just whip it out and off you go. And I feel perfectly fine feeding in public. Just remember your rights. No one can make you move. Good luck!xx
