Breastfeeding if you are poorly

I have a bit of an upset tummy, nothing too bad, just feel a little icky.

Is it still OK to feed bub? He's been pooing loads of late and I did actually think he might have a bit of a dodgy tummy himself (he is eating as normal and seems fine, it's just the constant explosive poo's? He also hates being winded?)

Also what if you have a cold? Can you still feed then?

I guess the answer is yes but I just wondered if you can pass on any nasties through breastmilk?

yep, no nasties in breastmilk, infact you can breastfeed through almost any illness. your bodies immue system will produce antibodies which will pass to baby

Breast milk is liquid gold! I froze some of mine for emergencies and glad I did! I've used it on his scratches, a gunky eye all healed quickly!
Also we've all been poorly so I got out the breast milk and although he is ill I think it has protected him against the worst x

Also if you have a wee bug he will get the antibodies you are producing to fight it off, which are def good for him. Xxx

I had the vomiting bug a couple of weeks ago. Feeding between toilet trips was very hard but I got oh to hold lo to boob as I was shaking too much to hold him!
Keep feeding, as the others have said it will protect lo from the illness x

i think its actually more beneficial to feed when your ill to prevent baby getting it as when you make the antibodies theyre passed to baby straight away and he shouldnt get the bug or at least not get it as bad as you
