Hi Ladies,

Is it normal that I'm 36+4 & don't think I've experienced any BH's yet? This is my first pregnancy so I've no idea what the feeling is like but if they're 'mild' contractions', then surely I would know right? :oooo:

Hiya...this is my 4th and have still never felt braxton hicks...every pregnancy I wait for them but they're yet to appear lol xx

i never had them or at least noticed them with my first either but have this time round. Sometimes they are so weak you dont notice them at all. I wouldnt worry about hun x

Don't worry at all, I am on number 4 , and had none at all with my first two and lots from 20 weeks with 3rd and more than ever before this time, from 22 weeks, very strange , and very annoying as this time I get the every time I move! last time they were totally independant and random! they don't mean your more ready for labour or anything clever, baby umber 3 as born at same term as the others !

Imagine you belly goes rock hard , like a squeesed orange ball, and so its tight and a bit uncomfy, sometimes just at the bottom of bely and other times it goes right the way up to top of bump. it will be hard to touch from outside too, and I always get the urge to go to to the ladies! They should be random, I get about 6-8 every hour, which is way more than last time

I've been getting them, but can't feel them AT ALL. I just happened to be touching my tummy when I noticed my bump had turned into a solid ball, then it all went flabby again after about 20 seconds or so. No idea how often I get them, I've been aware of it happening about a couple of times a week. I asked the midwife about it and she confirmed BH and said it just happens like that sometimes. The last few times I've had a slight 'gathering' feeling, but I don't think I would have noticed if I'd been up and about (rather than slouching in the sofa lol)

I havent had them either.. unless they come when Im sleeping!? lol xx

Ooh I think maybe I have been getting these...midwife said it feels like baby is pressing up with both hands towards your ribs but my 'tightenings' have all been very low down, around the belly button and below. And it definitely makes me feel like I need a wee! I just thought it was baby pressing her back against my belly or something

Ooh I dunno, maybe I have felt them then.

Quite a few times, it's felt like baby is stretching his legs out straight & pushes against my ribs which kinda takes my breath away & at the same time feels like he's pushing himself against my tummy (it feels hard).

I just always assumed BH's were akin to period pains ;) x
