braxton hicks into contractions

do braxton hicks get stronger, then possibly turn in to contractions, or is having braxton hicks and contractions different?
getting more intense braxton hicks a good sign?

Im not sure but would be interested to know the answer to this too!

I do believe they are one and the same, except the real thing start to occur closer together, become much more intense and much stronger as time goes on.
