Awwwww sounds like a nasty infection! Glad that he's been kept in and good of the hospital to make it clear that it was a precaution, SSS must be so worried already

Can I just add, that if anyone else finds themselves in a similar situation - call an ambulance.

This forum may be great, but it is no substitute for medical care/advice.

I'm not specifically aiming this at SSS but if anyone is seriously worried about their child, then please dial 999 immediately!

we are always aware of this and regularly check replies. The first reply in this thread was

I would get an appointment now if not A & E to be sure bless him.

Does he still have a temp?

Which I think shows we are all aware we are not doctors or anything.

Firstly, im sorry to have asked on here, i wasnt asking for medical advice just wondered what you would do in this instant.. and i did ring ambulance in the end..

I could kick myself for not doing it sooner, i have to live with that now because the docters said to me this morning if i had left it any longer he may have needed more help than he did.. he was quite ill yesterday and all i have done is cry because i didnt know what to do.. how stupid am i...

Anyway update this afternoon..

He has to see a ear nose and throat specialist because the sweeling in his throat should have gone down more than it has, so they think there is more of a underlying problem, however his tongue has returned bck to its normal self, he is in a lot of pain with this problem still and has to have voltorol and paracetomol up his bum.. i knw not nice but he wont swallow anything.. he had his course of antibiotics through his iv drip and that finished last night and they have given him more chalky white stuff and are seeing how he gets on swallowing that.. he still hasnt a temprture anymore so thats great news, so hopefully if its an infection its clearing up now!

they have reduced his fluids drip because he wont drink.. but on a good note he has manged food today, so he is on the mend..
he still is quite poorly but nothing like yesterday,

Hoping to get him home before i have this baby, cos i dont know what i will do if hes still in, i'll be tearing myself between 2 children on different wards.. but hey if he is then he is, but fingers crossed this swelling goes down and he can come home soon..

thats it for today, will update tomorrow when i come home for an hour!
