Booking in appointment at 12 weeks!!

Hi

I'm new here and just got my BFP (1st pregnancy) 2 weeks ago. Going off my last period 25/09/15 I'm about 7 weeks. I went to see my GP last week and today I received a pack through the post and a booking in appointment with the midwife for the 18th December. if my dates are right I'll be 12 weeks by then! I'm worrying now as to how far I'll be when I eventually get my scan with it being Christmas.

Anyone else had their first appointment this late? Being a first timer I don't know whether this is normal sometimes or whether I should call them.

Hi, when I was pregnant with my first last year, my booking in appointment was late, don't think it was quite 12weeks, and during the appointment the community midwife phoned the hospital to book my scan which was just a few days later. This time I had a phonecall from midwife today, missed call but message was she was phoning to arrange booking in appointment, im only 7weeks at the minute, so it loads earlier this time xx

Thanks hopefully she'll get me in for a scan the week after then. Think I'm just a little disappointed and impatient lol. Still doesn't feel real yet so was looking forward to it and being able to tell family and friends over Christmas x

I had my booking in appointment at 11 weeks and was worried that it would take ages to get a scan date but they booked me in for the following week.

It seems like you must be due similar time as me as I think my scan will be week before Xmas, its stressing me out with it being so close to Xmas, I'm just hoping everything is ok, I need to chill �� xx

I don't even know how many weeks I am (breastfeeding so no periods) and the mw couldn't see me for 2 and half weeks. I thought that was bad! They must be very busy round your way? It seems there is a fast track for scans if they need it so try not to worry. You could always try and call the mw before that and just ask, as it's Christmas, and ask if you'll get a scan before. Doesn't hurt to ask. I am hoping I'll get sent for a dating scan.

Hi, yeah I think I might give them a call tomorrow. GP seemed under impression it would only be about 2 weeks. I fell pregnant whilst on pill so totally unexpected but thrilled ...but GP made me worry more as I told her about niggles and small pains on lower left side and she mentioned ectopic was more likely due to pill. So now every niggle makes me freak even though I know it's more than likely nothing after reading posts here. So the sooner the better so I can put my crazy mind at rest ha ! x

I've not got a booking in appointment booked either.

I looked on my surgery's website and it says ante natal appointments are only on Tuesday afternoons at the local family centre (which is a 30+minute walk away so would need a bus to & from, I don't drive). And on top of that I have no childcare on Tuesday afternoons so no way of attending a booking in appointment without taking my kids with me and then they'd know, and I don't want them to know yet.

I've more or less decided to wait and book it for the 29thof December if they are working that day.

My only other option is to be seen sooner and either take my kids or see if my friend will have them for a couple of hours, but I'm not keen on either of those options so will probably just wait lol.

I'll be 13 weeks exactly on the 29th lol.
