Hi girls.

My LG is combination fed and I'm trying to bf a little more, but the past few days she's been screaming at theboob and getting frustrated. She screams, stops & sucks, then screams and flaps her arms around. Does this mean my milk doesn't come out fast enough? Or is it bad latch due to giving her formula top ups?

its probably frustration, my lg did this at times but persevere and it will pass. it may just be a phase

might also be wind, if she's uncomfortable in the position she's lying in to feed

Does it sound like confusion as she's been having bottles xx

Probably frustration as drinking from bottles is easier than breastfeeding... My lo does this until the 'let down reflex' kicks in then he's fine! Doesn't sound like confusion but she probably just prefers the bottle xx

You should feel a tingling sensation when it starts then the milk comes out a lot faster...I think its diifferent for everyone but for me it won't take longer than 2 minutes before it starts, unless I'm really stressed then it takes longer, but it helps if you close your eyes, relax and think of how much you love your lo (harder than it sounds sometimes when they're wriggling and fussing and its 2am or something) not sure how long it lasts but even once the tingling stops it still seems to come out faster than before..if you know what I mean! Xx

I don't think I've ever felt this tingling sensation, maybe this is why my lo is frustrated on the boob as I have low supply,? Xx

I feel the tingling of my let down in the opposite boob - quite a prickly sensation and I say to LO 'here it comes...' he instantly wrinkles his forehead and starts gulp, gulp, gulping... It only takes about 20 seconds of him sucking for it to start. I probably wouldn't notice it anymore if I didn't wait for it - do you notice your LO suddenly start swallowing faster?

Also, when my LO is being fussy it's almost always due to wind.

I hear her gulping but not fast. What happens is, I put her on the boob, she instantly starts crying and lashing out almost, starts feeding for around 5 seconds, comes off the boob and that stays repetitive for five minutes or so. Don't know what I'm doing wrong.
