Hey Ladies

I am totally clueless about these things and I thought you guys will probably be able to give me a heads up!

I want to buy a birthing ball, but they seem quite pricey. Is there any difference between a birthing ball and a standard exercise/yoga ball? Or will I be okay buying and using one of those?

Thanks!! :D

I'm quite sure they're very similar if not the same - probably just trying to make a bit more money by giving it a baby related name!

I've used a normal exercise one both times x

ive never used one but alot of ladies on here seem to use them and they sound great...i want one..if ive still got enuf time left 4 the benefits.where is best place to get one and best price plz if anyone can help? xxx

Well I have just found some at argos for between 5 and 8 quid which have good reviews! So I'm heading off to town to get one now :D

ooo thanks mel that sounds great..i'll have to get one xxx

There's all price ranges on Amazon. I really don't think there's a diff between an exercise ball and a pregnancy ball. I just made sure that I got an anti burst one so no-one would have to pick a preggo woman up off the floor. My worst dilemma was what size to get. I got a 55cm one coz I am 5' 3" but wish I'd got a 65cm one.

Yep I'm using a normal exercise ball, I can't find any difference between the two and I bagged mine off ebay for 99p! It's ace xx

I've got one mine from sports direct for 5 or 6 pounds ( pump is included)!!!

what week would you start using yours? x

I bought at about 34 weeks ( was midwives advice as I'm getting pains in my hips) but mainly was using it to put my feet up while sitting on sofa!!!! Used it only few times so far!

I just got back from town with my new purchase!!! My hubby has pumped it up for me and I'm sat on it now and I have to say I LOVE IT!!!!!! So comfy! It's making me have really good posture and its nice to sit and rock my hips on :) I would highly recommend!!!!!!!

Hehe I love putting music on and bobbing away on mine and like you said its brill for posture :p mine is just a normal exercise ball :p xx

Was going to ask the exact same question, OH said they're both the same but I thought there was a difference. Will get my mum to keep an eye on one for me off ebay :) xxx

Not much difference at all. I'm waiting til after my consultants appointment on Monday and if I'm given the go ahead for a natural birth then I'll get one.

Don't forget there are 2 sizes depending on your height. Over 5ft7 need 75cm one, people under that need 65cm. X
