When did your midwife talk to you about your birth plan?
Ive been told by my consultant that they dont go through them til the very end despite her wanting me to have an anaesthetic referral, she keeps chasing this but still havent heard anything and she asked for it in june!

I dont know what to expect and havent got a clue really what will happen and have no friends to ask, and when I have my midwife appointments they are too busy and dont have time for questions, its literally check blood pressure and pee sample and out again.

If you bottle feed do you have to take the steriliser with you? The health care person said that I have to take milk and bottles with me but didnt explain any thing else.

Im really confused! Please help.

How far along are you? I am doing my birth plan this week - it is not finished - some of the girls provided outlines of birth plans that they are following.

I have no idea about the steriliser - have you a tour of your hospital birthing suite booked - if so you can ask then and if not you can phone them up and ask for one.

Im 34 weeks. Im not having a hospital tour as I have a severe hospital/ needle/ doctor phobia and it would stress me more than I am already.

My consultant wants to admit me to hospital now due to an allergic reaction I am having caused by being pregnant coupled with a back problem which is being made worse by baby messing with my ribs which is putting more pressure on it, I am finding it increasingly more painful to breathe and am already on high doses of co- codamol but she knows admitting me will freak me out and panicing will make it worse so am being seen every week.

I believe I'm doing mine with my midwife on my next appointment. Which is on the 18th of Dec making me 34 + 4 weeks.xx

I was just told to get mine sorted at my last antenatal class. My midwife hadn't mentioned it at all. Having said that my "official" midwife is off on long term sickness so ive only been seeing stand in ones who probably aren't as bothered anyway

Had mine at 35.5 weeks, hope u get yours sorted soon xxx

You shouldnt need a steraliser hun.... just your own bottles, formula, teets etc. The hospital should have whats called a Milk Room, or something to that effect, where you can steralise and heat up ur own. Are you using formula?
You could always buy the ready made cartons or bottles and bring those with you. Thats what Im doing.... got a box of SMA small bottles which are glass and have steralised teets so just need to warm the bottle up.

I did mine at 36 weeks, id recommend you do it after your Parentcraft classes as you get a better idea of what you do and dont want.

My birth plan is "go with the flow" but joking aside i am not keen on students in birth, epidural as a last resort and waterbirth if poss...

I know all these things can/will change on the day but i think it makes the thought more manageable if you have an idea of how you personally would like the labour to go.

I'm doing my birthing plan on 05/12 when I'm 37 weeks.

xx

Ive got the ready made cartons of sma gold to take with me as DUH dont supply milk, they have told me that much.

Im not going to any classes as they only hold 1 a month on a saturday and my fiance works weekends alternating between days and nights and have no one else to go with me.

Give the mat unit a ring or even just ring ur mw and they shud be able to tell u for definite, but as far as I kbow they shud have steralising facilities :)
