I lost my one from last time, but have included experiences from the first one in this one.
The point re the food is that last time we both went from 7am (1 piece of toast) until 11pm without thinking to eat or drink. OH didn't recover for days!

Have I forgotten anything?

Birth plan
In general, I would like as natural experience as possible. I will however be receptive to any suggestions made, and my husband (Chris Gerring) is to be involved in all decisions. My husband will be with me throughout.

I would prefer a water birth. During my first labour, I also requested this. I was monitored but was not allowed to labour or birth in the water as the baby’s heart beat was not reacting to the contractions. The labour and birth were however completely normal. If this is the case again, I would still like to have a water birth, or at least labour in water. If the birthing pool is not available, I would like access to a bath, provided that gas and air is available. If neither is available, I would like to have freedom to move during labour.

I would like gas and air, and will ask for anything stronger should I feel the need for it. I would prefer not to have continuous monitoring unless necessary, as last time I had to lie still for a long period and this did not permit me to have the active labour I had anticipated.

I would like to avoid a c-section if possible, however I understand that it may be necessary in some circumstances. Please explain the options to me and Chris if it becomes necessary. I would still like the baby to be delivered to my chest, and if that is not possible, to my husband.

I would also like to avoid any forceps/suction assistance to delivery unless absolutely necessary. My last labour the pushing stage went over an hour, and the doctor was keen to try intervention. The baby however did arrive without intervention after 1h 20mins.

Please give me clear instructions during labour – particularly the push and pant commands. I had difficultly hearing them last time as I was using the gas and air.

I had a 2nd degree tear last time, probably as a result with my daughter being delivered all at once with no time to turn the shoulders. I had to have a perineum repair several months later as the tear did not heal properly. The Registrar has made reference to this is the notes section of my hand held notes.

My husband does not wish to cut the cord.

I am happy to receive the injection to assist the delivery of the placenta. I am happy for the baby to receive a vitamin K injection, and for my husband to give the required consent for this.

I am rhesus negative, and my husband is positive. I received an Anti-
D injection at 30 weeks.

If labour is long, please remind me to eat/drink if appropriate, and also my husband. There will be some snacks in the labour bag.

I would like the baby to be delivered onto my chest for direct skin to skin contact. If this is not possible, he should be delivered to my husband for skin to skin contact.

I would like to commence breastfeeding as soon as possible. I breastfed my first child, but might still require support to get it established again.

somebody put a link to a good online birthplan somewhere

Sounds good to me :)

I'd maybe make it shorter in places and bullet point it. Things like 'I am happy to receive the injection to assist the delivery of the placenta. I am happy for the baby to receive a vitamin K injection, and for my husband to give the required consent for this.'

I'd make shorter, something like

*Injection to help deliver the placenta - Yes please

*Vitamin K injection for baby - Yes please. Husband will give consent if needed.

And so on. Simply because you just need to make your points and not have them lost in the writing. Also MW's and Doc's needing to read it might have to do so in a hurry so things might be missed if overly wordy.

I agree with Sherlock. My midwives for my homebirth knew all of my preferences but the staff at the hospital I was transferred to didn't. My plan was written in my notes and consisted of three bulletpoint lines (I really didn't expect to be transferred!) and they didn't even get a chance to read that!
