I have my first appointment with my midwife tomorrow at 8am (what a ridiculous time to have to get up for!! I am sooo lazy at the moment)

Did you go on your own or with you OH? I'm torn between having his support, or having time alone to voice all my weird worries privately? What you think?

Want to ask her about my now almost constant cramps and tummy twinges. My lower belly feels so tender, like it's bruised. Anyone else's preg cramps still going on? I know i've been having them on and off for weeks now, but last few days they're a lot more noticable. Nothing too bad, but they are getting distracting. Maybe i need to exercise more to ease my whole belly (i've literally just been sitting on my arse these last few days)

I think your tummy pains sound really normal, I remember with Mel I had lots of cramping and pains all the way through. My OH never came to the midwife but really because I didn't need him and it was just like a check up most of the time. He didn't come to anti-natal classes either mind as he was far too squeamish for the birth. Our classes were so graphic that I felt sick in them so I'm glad he didn't come! My mum was my birth partner and she was amazing! My OH came in after and was an instantly brilliant Dad plus he hadn't been seriously upset by the birth as I think he would have been (even though it was fine and pretty straight forward!) he has been known to pass out when people just mention blood and I didn't want to put either of us through the experience of him needing medical attention too! Just find your own way hun and you'll be right, if you want him there take him

Thanks Rosebay!

I'm just finding it so hard to enjoy this pregnancy and trust my body to do the right thing. No one ever told me that pregnancy involved feeling crampy and uncomfortable! I thought you just walked around looking radiant, rubbing your bump!

Went for a big walk earlier and that seemed to ease my aches and cramps. Maybe exercise is the answer. Can't wait to ask the midwife SSOOOO many questions. Hopefully she can put my mind at ease.

Hahahahahahaha :rotfl:

It can be hard work but then there are ups and downs so it isn't constant (unless you're really unlucky! ) I'm going through a good phase where I'm feeling pretty good, got some pains in my legs/hips and having some heartburn but nothing major!

Hope it went well and you remembered all the questions you wanted to ask! In my first pregnancy my OH came with me to every appointment, partly because I didn't have a car of my own but partly because he wanted to know about stuff as much as me. It's up to you really!
