Well I thought by now I'd have my boobs back to myself but it seems Oscar has other ideas! I just thought I'd see how many of us had an older baby that is still bf and we can chat/ offer support etc....

My hurdles at the moment are trying to get Oscar to settle without my
Nips, getting him do drink anything else out of anything else. I have the odd glass of wine , am I awful? Lol and how many gawd damn bras am I going to buy before my boobs shrivel backto nothing lol....

Not in the same boat as Ella is only coming up to three months but wanted to say I have the odd glass of wine too and think that's fine! X

YAY!!! Not just me then lol! (Not that I'm an alchi or anything!!)

I too have the odd cider, mainly just after she goes to bed as i know she can go at least 3 hours on a bad night. tbh it helps her sleep!! terrible mother i know :)

I think i'll still be doing this when shes older, part of me hates it with a passion, but then when shes feeding i love cuddles and my time with her. Very strange. Well done for doing it for so long!

Hey hun, my Oscar is coming up to 6 months and still well and truly a booby boy. Just wanted to say nothing wrong with having the odd drinky poos. I was on the leaky boob page on FB and was reading that not drinking while BF is just one of the old wives tales and that, in moderation, it's fine xxxxxx

I hate with a passion nursing bras, but when I put a 'normal' bra on my god they're uncomfortable with boobs that are full of milk!! I look fwd to the day I'm not nursing, but at the same time am making the most out of the closeness to my baby.

xxxxxxx

It's the same for me too, I feel like I have split personality lol I can't really keep up with what I want!! xxxxx

Oooh I love the leaky b@@b!!

I can't imagine him ever stopping bf, Every time, I say to him, "I'm going to remind you of this when you're 18" when he won't drink anything else. Doesn't help tho lol!

I'm only bfing twice a day now but I have been known to have the odd glass or two or three lol! I figure its not too bad now its longer between feeds and I don't do it right before a feed. I'm planning on stopping at 1yr if I can...of course ella might have other ideas lol! X

I'm also planning to Bf till 1 year old. Devon will drink water at every meal from beaker and expessed boob milk from a beaker, but to drinkn more than sipping , well only when I'm not there really , OH had him for two days recently while I went camping to Take That with the ladies , (my xmas pressie)! and they were totally fine, but if i'm there he wants me.

will Oscar take a beaker ?

Wonder if our BF babies will actually like the taste of cows milk after 12 months anyway now?

We're not showing any signs of stopping yet! He hasn't dropped any feeds, and I've no idea how I'm going to settle him when we finally do stop either! Having one last bf is a huge part of our bedtime routine and he's neve had a bottle so may have dug myself a bit of a hole there

My HV always says she is very proud of 'her' long term breast feeders, she thinks we should keep on going when LO is 2!

It would be good to talk to other long term bf'ers, everyone at my local group is a new mummy so not quite the same...great idea!

TWO YEEEEEEARS? Is she mad? lol

I want my boobies back way before then. Ima buy some nice bras and celebrate by wearing them all at once lol

To be honest I don't mind feeding him until he is 2, in saying that I mean I enjoy it and it's really convenient lol! I'm sure it would be fine for him physically to feed until he's atvleast 2, I just can't help but think it might make him a little bit clingy? We don't have any family round us, and I'm conscious he only ever really sees OH and I - that's why I go to so many baby groups, to try to socialise him with as many other babies and adults as I can!

I think I may be a long term b/feeder too. I still bf Eva 5 to 6 times a day and that is in addition to 3 square meals a day!

Its only now that we are weaning, she has finally settled into a routine that I can plan around, I'm more happier to carry on b/feeding for as long as Eva wants it and I have the gut feeling she won't give it up for a while yet.

Now I just have to inform OH that it may be quite some time before he sees me in my sexy bras again(!)

No advice but wanted to say well done to all the ladies who have been able to do it :yay: Unfortunately it didn't work out for me but seeing stories like this makes me have high hopes for the next baby xx
