Hey ladies:wave:

Was speaking to my midwife today and she said that i can decide on a week to have my first scan. She said when i decide to let her know and she will book me in with the consultant that i like instead of the horrible one we had to make a complaint about  (Theres only 2 consultants in our hosp and they do all the scans)

Anyways, i thought week 7 but i have just realised we are booked to go away for a week and a bit then :wall2:will be 8+ by time we get back or could have it before we go, about 6+ weeks, but i'm thinking that might be a bit early and i'm scared that there would be any doubts of viability at that stage, so i'm not sure what to go for. any suggestions?

If you can hold out, then going later will show more things up I think.

I have been bleeding a little and they wouldn't scan me this week which I assume is because it can cause more worry than reassurance. I have to wait until I am 7 + 5

Thanks hun, thats exactly what i am worried about that it may be too early to tell, think i will try and hold out till after, but at the same time dont want to be worrying about it while we are away.

I agree hunny, after today i would say wait aslong as you can, i know its hard but definetly worth it x x

It's really stressful all of this isn't it? I am finding the days are really really dragging on.

I keep reminding myself I need to stay positive but it's so hard.

Hope the time passes quickly for you x

Hi Nurse26

I went for my early scan 6+5, we could see a blob with a heartbeat, which did reassure me a little, but I wish I would have waited a couple of weeks longer as it seems ages to my 12 week scan and it didn't really look like a baby x x

I know, all the waiting around is a nightmare, the thought of actually going for the scan makes my tummy churn, going into the same room as last time  going to be a nervous wreck.

You are right hun, going to hold out till the 8 week mark.
Hope you are ok M2A!!! xxxxx

I was going to agree and say I'd wait. Exciting!! :yay: x x

I went at 7 +3 and i saw a heart beat and the head look like it was forming!

good luck girls xx

am going away on sat for a week as well so am going to wait till i come back and ill be almost 8 weeks hoping if i wait then we should defo see some thing by then xxxx

Thanks girls! think i'm going to wait, but cut a couple of days off our hols (not going any where exciting, just our flat in the city) The consultant i want does clinic on a monday so hoping for the 28th march, fingers crossed!

Hi hun, at 6 weeks all you'll see is a jelly bean shape & a heartbeat, the longer you leave it the more of baby you'll see :) x

Thanks Jenny! ye i'm going to leave it till 8 weeks should see abit more then.

Thanks constantstar, that is reasuring that your was clear then :) hopefully mine will be too. xx

I think you're doing the right thing waiting until 8 weeks hon, when I rang up for my private scan she said the earliest they scan is 7 weeks, if you don't see anything then they will scan you again for free the following week. I thought I would rather wait a few more days then go through that agony of waiting a week if nothing was seen. Had to go with a Sunday appointment in the end though as OH couldn't get time off but I will be 7 weeks 5 days so nearly 8 weeks x x

I agree, later is better, it's just frustrating to wait isn't it xx
