In tears coz my landlord has put my rent up and i can't afford food as it is...(he is just been funny i know it) i have 50 left over a month not including food and thats before he has put the rent up!!! My laptop has broke which i paid 500 quid for a few year ago! What else wants to fuck up for me! Why does nothing go right...well for me anyways, sick of OH having a go at me for nothing...argh
Sorry i needed to tell someone. The only thing i have to stay strong for is my baby and that is the only thing keeping me going xxx

Wish I could say something to make you fel better, what an awful time for the landlord to put your rent up. Sorry everything feels like it's going wrong, there's got to be light at the end of the tunnel but I now it won't feel like it. Don't think I've ever posted to you before but sending big hugs anyway. Aww hunni Can you not find anywhere cheaper? Not sure what rent prices are like near you but that does still sound really cheap? You cant even get a 1 bed flat near us for that, he might go on the arguement that its just in line with average prices in the area then theres not much u can do.
He does sound a swine though from what youve said about him before

Well you can get them for like 320 and when your on benefits its alot of money So from 320 is what most people pay in a council house its steep considering its exactly like the same sort of house its cheaper round here as i live in a small town maybe? but thats quite expensive for a normal house round here. Oh he is an arsehole and now he knows i want to move he is trying to be worse xxx

Oh forgot to say i maybe have another private house (maybe) off a family friend they are decorating it all for me hopefully too and i get to choose a new fire. Which i haven't even got a fire in my house. Just have to wait til spring to see if they have got another house they are planning on buying fingers crossed.

do you work if your on maternity leave for a year or so apparently you can get housing benifit if your on benifits you can claim housing benifit to and that shud cover most of your rent if not all at the mo i do get it this flat 450 quid a month but hes only taking what housing benifit is paying and thats 103 quid a week in my area

Something will turn up hun, I'm stressing too cos of work bullies trying to force me out of my job for being pregnant, Ive got a £800 mgt & 725 pm rent plus 2 lots of council tax to find at the min til my house sells...bloody money!!! Theres never enough!x

Emmaandamyleigh, I don't work anymore OH works part time. Maybe they will cover more rent if it goes up? I hope so...I have made a claim for job seekers i never knew but i could of been claiming a long time ago. No wonder i have so little money to live on...have to sign on for a few week until i am 29 week then i get income support. OH has a job interview so fingers crossed for that. xx

Its a 3 bed semi! tiny bedrooms too nice big gardens though so hopefully by summer well feel we are getting our moneys worth! only moved in start of oct so its pretty much rained since then boohoo!
Ive got no money either its totally shite, then like u say some swines that play the system like 'single' parents who arent really single get it all! u dont need friends like that!x

Aw yeah wait til summer will be better for you then. Mine is 3 bed detached one room is pretty big the other decent ish and a box room. Can't believe how expensive your house is...makes me seem like i am moaning for nothing lol but seriously round here mine is quite expensive for an ex council house too!
Yeah i know shes always rubbing it in my face and her OH works full time on a decent wage...they just don't need it its greed. She has no outgoings because she gets it all paid for. Like she will ask what i got OH for xmas and i will say we didn't buy eachother as we never had no money and she will screw her face and say "ya didn't buy eachother" if only she knew the real meaning of living maybe she wouldn't say half the things she does xxx

Me and my other half never get each other christmas presents either, unless there is something we really want and we have some spare cash, otherwise its just a waste of money. Have you considered telling him you can't afford it? Write a letter explaining it and say there is no way you can pay that much, you never know it might help....or it could help you get more housing benefit if he says tough?

Yeah SNR all that matters to me is i have my family there i am not bothered about no presents. Nope i don't think she is a friend since she has all this money she has become so stuck up and all for herself but saying that shes been all for herself all the time anyways. She has said loads more i wouldn't go into it would take too long lol xx

That is a good idea, wouldn't know what to write. I think i'll have to do that if housing benefit won't pay more towards as they don't pay it all anyways but if if went up they would maybe pay more. I hope so xx

If you are in a 3 bed property, you ought to consider moving to a 2 bed property, as they can be funny about paying out for somewhere with more bedrooms than are needed.

Are you claiming tax credits and healthy start vouchers?

You need to let your landlord know that you won't be able to pay the new rent increase and that he is either going to have to accept what you can pay, or allow you to stay there on your current rent while you find somewhere more appropriate.

Don't forget you can see your CAB and they can write letters for you, too.

Thanks, yeah i wouldnt mind a 2 bed house its finding one. This other one i might have is a 3 bed though. I am going to write him a letter first see how it goes. Does anyone know if he can up the rent on a Assured shorthold tenancy? xx
