After me writing in my journal before saying baby was in a good position, i have just read my notes to find out Little Missy is back to back :(
Ive just been searching on-line for info as the midwife didnt mention anything about it. Anyone got any tips on how to help her move? just incase she is too comfy and has no intentions of moving x x

My midwife said to keep getting on all fours like when watching tele and that. (I havn't been doing this tho) x

yeah all fours! if theres no turn ask for help with positions in labour but dont go on your back omg te pain x

Good posture helps apparently. I tried everything to turn DS and DD but nothing worked with them.
Im so relieved lo is not back to back i dont think i can cope with a third b2b labour

my prev DS was back to back, the midwife also told me getting on all 4s helps them turn, if not , dont panic chick my baby was 8lb 1 oz and born back to back naturally with just gas & air, (ps im 5ft too lol) . All took 10 hours too so not overly long either. xxxxxxxx

Don't slouch when sat down. My Lo was back to back and gave birth on gas and air and only a 8 n half hour labour so don't worry too much

My LO was back t back and didn't budge! i had a water birth which really helped the back pain and took the pressure off. my labour was about 5 hours long with just gas and air so Not bad at all xx

My MW told me my baby was either back to back or breech at my last scan, she said its absolutely normal and they change positions quite alot at this stage, and as long as you've been getting plenty of movement, baby is bound to move, so try not to worry

Thanks ladies, i feel better now ive heard some real life stories about back to back labour, the internet makes it sound like labour lasts forever and its almost impossible to have labour with intervention.
Im going to try everything possible to get little Missy to mobe, thanks for the tips :) x x

Hi hon sorry no advice but if it makes you feel better mine is back to back too! I didn't know either until I read it in my notes. Luckily our LO's still have a few more weeks to get moving! :) x x

My sister in law's LO was b2b when she was 34 weeks, she was advised that walking as much as possible, getting on all fours, swimming and sitting on a chair backwards (as in legs astride it facing the back) had all been rumoured to help

I gave birth to my daughter and son who were back to back, midwives didnt even attempt to move them which i thought was odd... Anywho the labours werent too bad apart from tearing at front instead of back so needed a cathetar.. im hoping this little one doesnt take after its bro and sis x

Jack was back to back (MW didn't tell me when I saw her 4 days previous!). During labour they scanned his head and discovered he was at a slight angle rather than straight back to back. Jack managed to turn himself round the right way with alot of help (internals) from the MW's. One said she'd never felt a baby move round during labour before! Hopefully your little one will be able to turn herself during labour too! :) x

Update - just been back to the midwife and Little Missy seems quite comfy and hasnt moved, when the midwife checked she said she was engaged too which is causing the extra pressure that im getting, just hoping she moves soon.
Also my hemoglobin levels have dropped even though im on 3 iron tablets already, ive got diagnoised with pelvic girdle pain and have white blood cells in my sample (so its been sent to the lab) not the best midwife appointment i have had! x x

Oh dear doesn't sound the best appointment! Hope everything sorts itself out soon and baby moves x

I havent been on here for ages, mummy2adam cant believe how far along you are now!! I had a similar thing i was very anaemic and Ifan was back to back pretty much untill labour started and then he moved! Try not to worry too much they move all the time even during labour - its a very high precentage of babies that move into position just before birth x

OMG M2A

Sounds like a terrible appointment, try not to worry too much!!

Hope things get better for u Hun
Ellie decided to be back to back during labour.. So they move all the time.. I wish someone gave me tips on b2b labour at the time :( my niece was b2b and they tried turning her during labour.. Kinda glad I didn't have to go thru that!!
I don't think it prolongs labour mine was 7hrs from waters breaking..
Both of mine were breech up until about 38w too but turned just in time!

Hey M2A.......sorry to hear MW appointment wasn't good! My LO still favouring being head down facing the right so I guess he could go either way, back to back or right way round! ......Someone said to me they thought I had 'dropped' the other day....is it OK to be engaged at this stage? I have no idea! :-s

Thanks for your replies ladies, im doing everything the midwife said to try and move her.
Cherelle - lovely to hear from you. Hope you and baby Ifan are well. It seems like ive been pregnant forever but it also seems like it going pretty quick at the same time, if that makes sense!

Mum2b410 - Adam was engaged from 26weeks and stayed there till he was born but with 2nd or more pregnancies they can engage and pop out again quite easily x x
