and it didn't go well, babys not grown at all in the past 2 weeks, which im really upset about, im having a doppler done friday to check the blood flow to baby again and the the same tuesday then i see the consultant again, they are going to induce me on the 19th december when i will be 37 weeks. they did say to me she may be slightly poorly when shes born, god im so scared i just want to cry.
i have never had an induction before so what do they do? also on the sheets i did get it says they have to be very careful if you have had more than 5 pregnancies, im not sure why though?
also if her movements change from now till next friday or im concerned in anyway then they will induce earlier.
sorry for rambling on im just so scared and worried

ok im gonna tell you what i know but i am a little worried im gonna scare you, please dont worry, induction is fine, dont worry about that atall, i have been induced 2 times out of 6 and it was fine, cant say any differnt from the others i had, as for the more than 5 babies thing it is because they say there is more risk of bleeding after the birth but it is just covering their own backs im sure, i have been fine so far but must admit they got me worried over this so am just ignoring it and thinking about the baby i will have at the end.
Good luck hun, just remember we are all here for you

Thinking about you. Can't do anything so i'll send you some hugs.

Aw hun   im so sorry to hear that you had bed news. I know its really hard, but like everyone said try your hardest not to worry, they will keep a close eye on you and sounds like they are doing a good job so far.. as for induction i had one with my DD, she had the cord around her neck and i was at a prenatal visit when her heart slowed right down on the doppler. i was so scared, so we went to the hospital and got hooked upto a machine for two hours. they diceded to induce me next morning (3days overdue) all they do is put a pessary in your vagina and wait. if no effect, they do another but mine worked within 15 mins and was having strong contractions right away- i had no problems it was fine, i was scared too but it really wasnt bad at all and it made my labour very speedy :) whatever you do dont go reading up on google or anything you will really worry yourself to death, and dont be afraid to call them at all   thinking of you and sending big hugs, everything will be fine hunny hope your OK x x x

Sarah    it sounds like you are in very good hands and that they are taking care of you.

i was induced sarah with oliver for exactly the same reason as you will be.
i was getting growth scans and dopper scans alternate weeks from 30 weeks.
between 36 and 38 weeks he had hardly grown at all so i was induced that day.

i was 38+1 when he was born at 5lb 4oz. health wise he was alright. but he was cold and needed the heater. and his blood sugars were low so he had to be fed regulary.

we've no idea why he was small, amelia was born a week earlier and 2lbs heavier!

pm me if you want

Aww sweetie i really hoped to get a great update from you   I'm sure everything will be fine, but i can understand after what happened before why you would be so scared, i think anyone would be.

I wasn't induced so i cant help there but i'm sure you and Amber will both be fine, i really hope everything works out well for you

I'm sorry the scan didn't go well- it is so scary getting news like that- you feel so helpless and just want to be able to see your baby to KNOW that they're alright. You have my sympathy. I think you are in the best possible hands but if you are worried that things aren't going as you want them to then make a fuss- they will induce you sooner if they think it's best for you and baby.

I was induced at 40 weeks which was fine- just like a 'normal' labour- it was just started artificially. It seems to be different and a bit more difficult if you are pre-term and often more intervention is needed, so expect to need pain relief- epidural etc.

I hope everything goes well for you and your LO

my labour in a nutshell when i was induced...

was examined and was 2cm. and i was having niggling contractions. so they let me walk around a bit.

nothing happened so they broke my waters at about 8:30. let me wander around for a bit then because baby was small i had to be on the monitor constantly.

still nothing was happening so about 11:30 they put a syntocin drip up. that started my contractions up a bit more.

then about 20 past 12 i needed the loo, so i went and when i came back to the bed i was pushing, and he was born about 15 mins later.

tbh apart from having to be monitored the whole time and not being allowed the water birth (didnt want it anyway), everything with the induction side went fine :)
