Has anyone needed a growth scan at 37 weeks?

Im booked in for a growth scan on friday and will be 37 weeks +5 days by then. The midwife hasnt been able to measure baby properly for 4 weeks now and she measured 35cm yesterday so she still wants me to go ahead with the scan. She did also say that baby is roughly 7lbs already tho so she cant be that small can she?
Im just wondering if anyone has had a growth scan so close to their due date and also what to expect?
Is there a chance they will induce me or give me a sweep? If yes will this be done at the hospital or will i need to see my own MW? The thing is, she is off the whole of next week on holiday AGAIN! so i might need to wait on her getting back to work if i need a sweep.
Nothing was really explained to me about this whole thing so im left with a lot of "what if's"!

it really depends on the scan, I had one at 35 weeks as only measured 29-30 cm, and was like this for 4 weeks, baby was fine though, measured spot on for everything. I would imagine that they will be more interested in the placental blood flow at your stage, if that is fine they will probably leave you (unless you have a nice MW ), if not they will go through the options then

I had a growth scan quite late on in my last pregnancy and they got it completely wrong, told me baby was going to be tiny at about 5lb and she was 7lb 7oz, this time round i had my growth scan at 32 weeks and they said he was just under 5lb so think hes going to be a normal size, not long now to find out. If they think bubs is big then they might want to start things off earlier. Hope your scan goes well

I'm due a growth scan on monday i'll be 37weeks then. but my bump only measuring 29cm amd has been since about 30 weeks, Little Man has not been growing properly and at my last scan at 35 weeks was only measuring 31weeks, if he has lost weight or not grown at all this time my MW has said they will most probably induce me next week as he will be classed as full term.
The consultant that I see has not mentioned anything definate yet apart from the fact that I have to have growth scans, dopplers and CTG's to monitor him so I am having to rely on what my MW is saying which isn't much apart from now she hasn't booked me for anymore appointments with her as I will be seeing the consultant once a week.

i had ia few growth scans as amy was very small so they kept an eye on it if they think theres aproblem they will keep an eye on you and give you another scan or they ay offer you a sweep which will be done by a consultant have the reffered you to one or you with a consultant already im going to have growth scans with this one too and do scans with this one like an echo and one on the nose to ake sure everything is going well so far so good they might sen you for another one after this they will also check the placental blood flow make sure that everything is fine there it was with amy they dunno what was wrong with her

I just hate not knowing! I dont want to go in for a scan and they end up sending me unprepared to the labour ward or something lol Its all new to me and never had this first time round so just dont know what to expect.

ive not been seen by a consultant yet and havent been offered to see one either. My midwife almost seems embarrassed sometimes when i ask about sweeps and i also told her i felt a bit swollen down below inside and she wasnt to keen on checking and never did so she doesnt exactly fill me with confidence tbh. Ive to phone her on friday after the scan to let her know whats happening although she will be off for a week so i might need to wait to see her or i might be offered to see someone else. I really dont know! i suppose i will just need to wait and see what is said at the scan.

My sis had a scan at 36 and 38 weeks and cos she wasn't growing they induced her the next day...she had chance to go home and everythin 1st tho. Xx
