Hi all,

I was just wondering what you are packing for baby in your hospital bags?

I am a bit unsure. I don't want to take too much stuff but obviously don't want to not be prepared if you know what i mean?

It is hard as i suppose you never know how long you are staying in, best case scenario 12 hours, worst case scenario 3-5 days for a C-section.

So i was wondering what baby clothes and stuff i need to pack? Who can help :)

Hiya! I have packed about
20 nappies,
cotton wool
nappy sacks
4 babygros
4 vests
muslin
bib
2 hats
scratch mits (for what they are worth!)
cardigan
going home outfit
I think thats it, I have packed a babygro, vest and hat in my labour bag for when the baby is born and the rest is in my changing bag, it all folds up very small and i thought if i need anything else, DH can fetch it in. Hope that helps, would be interesting to see what others have packed. The other thing is I am unsure of what kind of jacket to pack especially with the weather being so warm atm. Any suggestions??

I took about 6 vest and 6 babyrows and some mits, a pack of nappies and cotton wool.

If you are lucky enough to get out quick it wont matter and if you do have to stay get your OH, family or friends to take more stuff in for you, that way your bag isnt over-flowing!!

Thanks guys!

I don't know what sort of going home outfit to pack for him.

I am assuming it will be hot in June, If i'm on time that is, lol! So i don't want to take anything to bulky.

Its hard to pack clothes for a little person i have never seen and have no idea what babies wear anyway!

Argh!

I found that packing as little as possible to actually take in with you, i.e pack for your best case scenario, but have a carrier bag at home packed with extra stuff for worst case scenario, that OH can grab easily between visits if needs be helped me feel like less of a pack horse when goin in in labour :D

Take some baby socks for hands.....more likely to stay on little hands than scratch mits. Libby's only stay on if I tuck them inside the sleeves of a baby gro so with any other outfits she has socks on her hands instead :D

For a home outfit I just had a babygrow with a matching blanket and vest and hat..... but she didnt need the hat as it was July and way too hot!!
