So here I am. Again. Sorr.
Okay, to anyone who's baby uses an inhaler. Have they been diagnosed with anything? How often do u use it, and what symptoms make u use it?
Keeping message short til I've charged my phone up xx

my eldest ds was given an inhaler when he stopped breathing he had 2 puffs every 4 hours round the clock for a week then slowly used it when needed he hasnt needed it for years my youngest ds as 2 the brown and blue he has been diagnosed with asthma but that didnt happen till just after his 2nd b.day he had the brown inhaler 1 puff every morning and every night the blue 1 we use if he gets wheazy generally 2 puffs every 4 hours but he can have up to 8 puffs if he has an attack as this is the equivalent of having a nebuliser

codies been on em since she was little..... really bad asthma, she had 5-10 puffs every two hours, and stroids three times a day, was in hospital for 48 hours xx

Sorry it's finally charged!
So our nhs trust won't diagnose a child under the age of 5 as asthmatic. Fine.
After the bronchiolitis they said take the inhaler, within a week he prob won't need it anymore.
That was in December! He wheezes a hell of a lot. Particularly in the morning?
He also gets very, i duno breathless i guess. So sucks in under the ribs, u can see all his ribs, and hes a chubster lol. And the thing when the skin goes in around the collar bone? Cant remember why its called.
Tonight we had to give him 5 puffs. Luckily the 5th finally started to work. They told us he's allowed no more than 5, at a very maximum. Said If he needed 5, he was to go to see doctors immediately. Well, I didn't take him. I feel bad, but we always seem to take him to the doctors, and I know they would have jut said, well es calmed down now so take him home.
I don't want them to treat him as an asthmatic, if he's not. But if he is, surely it's better to try and prevent that be constantly giving him the reliever?
I duno. I guess I'm just worried about , not how often it happens as such, but how often he seems to struggle? If that makes sense
Xx

DS1 was 'finally' diagnosed with asthma at 2yrs old as they wouldnt diagnose before that age in our area. Charlie had numerous chest infections and coughing so we were advised to use inhalers as and when required...he has the blue adn the brown ones...but only tend to use them now when he starts with coughing fits as he doesnt tend to be a wheezer.
As your little one is pulling in against his ribs, he needs to be seen by your GP as he may need a short course of steriods (not wanting to worry you but if left could turn into pneumonia at some stage).
We spent so many evenings at the out of hours GP service that one snotty triage nurse asked whether we actually had a GP, I let rip and told her that his symptoms kick off at night and I choose to use this service for my poorly child!!!

My little man was given the salbutamol inhaler on Wednesday due to constant chestiness and weezing for the last 3/4 months. Hes 3 in June but after trying many other things the doctor didnt seem reluctant to give it to him. He has to use it in the morning and at night, so far so good but I think hes coming down with another cold so It might be hard to tell whether its working properly for a couple of weeks yet :( Hope you get things sorted soon hunny x x

Thanks so much to both of u. Can that really turn into pneumonia?! I should peob know better because my sister had pneumonia multiple times as a badly asthmatic child, I just thought she was unlucky! Lol sorry.
See that's what confuses me, where he goes to the doc so often, they often check his cheat and say it sounds clear, but they don't see the baby I see, who like urs is worse at night, or very first thing in the morning generally. Or just moving lol. But rah he gets so breathless and does the sucking in thing, but they say he's clear? Which just confuses me when he is so obviously struggling??
And thanks Adams mum. Our lo has a cold now too. Well all 4 of us are now coughing our guts up. Not a pretty sight!!
Xx
