I was just wondering if your babys do this? When Carey is in a deep sleep he twicthes like mad, his bottom lip is bobbing up and down, he throws his arms around like every couple of minutes and he frowns. his breathing also becomes really deep and it keeps me awake! He only does it for 15-30 mins max a night!

Would you say hes having bad dreams or he's just a bad sleeper?

Does anyone elses LO do this in their sleep?

hi amy

i read in some book the hv gave me that they dont have nightmares till they are about 18 mnths  but i dont know if they can still have dreams that disturb their sleep. i dont know how they can tell they arent having them? :?

alex gets really fidgety in the night and he has been for 3/4 weeks. he is still asleep but wriggles and makes loads of noise etc and i have to stroke his hair till he settles again. hasnt done it last two nights

i was wondering if he was dreaming or just being unsettled as he goes in and out of deep sleep.

sorry not much help but just to say that Al does this too! :D

Is it wind? some of those symptoms sound like wind :)

Damien sometimes screams in the middle of the night for no reason, gets fidgety and seems upset, I wondered if it was nightmares too. Could just be his reflux though?

ah they do all share the same birthday, all boys aswel thats mad!

If it was wind surely he would carry on doing it when i lift him up? he stops it all and will lay really still..its only once he's in a deep sleep he goes abit mental bless him lol...

maybe it is wind ill see how he goes tonight

Ella used to scream in her sleep, a really horrible noise. It would wake her up. She hasn't done it that often lately, but it used to s**t me right up!!
And she used to laugh in her sleep from when she was around a week old. Now that was eery!

lol Kina, Rubie used to always laugh as she was dropping off as a newborn, it was soooo cute :D

Maybe he's dreaming?

I found this on a baby website:

Most of a baby’s sleep is active sleep. When he dreams, he may show signs of irregular breathing and twitching. In this type of sleep, a baby wakes up often, but briefly. The older a baby gets, the more soundly he’ll sleep
