Baby wipes on newborns??

Is it ok to use frangrance free sensitive wipes on newborn bums??

i use the frangrence free wipes in hospital they told me to just use cotton wool and water for the first few days but wipes are fine

I used the Huggies pure wipes on Ella and she was fine, if I use the Johnsons ones she comes up in a rash Now as I am using reusable nappies I use reusable wipes which are fab. Still use the Huggies if we're out and about though.

yh huggies pure are the ones i uses they are great pricy thou.. look out for buy one get one free at boots. tesco and asda own brand sensitve wipes are good too and cheap..

but huggies are the best
not keen on the pampers or johnsons ones

The best wipes I have found are Simple, they are fragrance fee too

i use tesco own sensitive ones (unless there is a deal on huggies hehe) and they are fine

I use cotton wool and water when I am at home and take wipes in the bag for when I am out, On the odd occasion when I have used the Johnsons wipes they have been making his bum red and sore so will defo try another brand that has been recommended on here

I use tescos fragrance free or any thing thats on buy one get one free! i keep buying them over a period of weeks so i had a great stock by the time Ewan arrived

Thats what we did the other day, went into the co-op to do our food shopping and the pampers sensitive were buy one get one free, stocking up well. Have also bought buy one guy one free johnsons shampoo, powder and baby bath.

i wouldnt bother with the shampoo, as baby might not have hair and if baby does then u can use the top to toe wash thats a wash and shampoo its easier

I did the same with stocking up, though wish I hadn't now! Have found that the products are very strong and often dry out Ella's skin. I use a dab of shampoo now and a little teeny bit of baby wash but that's it. If her skin is sore around her neck then I just use water and a sponge as the skin dries and cracks, poor maid!

I didnt even think about the baby not having hair You can tell im a first time mum. Il just keep the shampoo just in case!!

i was exactly the same with kai i bought everythin under the sun, never used any off it really, we used huggies sensitive wipes an they were ok kai has extremly sensitive skin, he's got excema, but they worked fine!

i dont think you can predict this at all i'm afraid. looking through these posts it seems to totally depend on baby!

i used wipes at first on alex and he got nappy rash - midwife advised cotton wool and baby lotion and that was fine. after a month or so he was fine with wipes and still is (although i use sensitvie ones). if he ever gets a bit of nappy rash then i stop with wipes and use lotion and cotton wool till its cleared up.

could just be that his skin is sensitie as he has excema but then sophie said Kai was fine with with wipes.

if you buy some i'm sure you'll use them eventually.

True! They're great for skirting boards (if you have the time to do them )

I use them for everything! The pc, desks, dusting jobs, kichen surfaces, kitchen floor (for small spills) literally everything!
