Hi there. From all the lit i have read, i should have definately felt the baby move by now.
I am 18weeks, 4 days and still nothing. It is my first baby, so i might not recognise it, but surely by now i would have felt something. Am i just being paranoid?

Some people dont feel anything until 20 plus weeks hun.
Depends on your size, placenta position etc etc..

If you are worried, call your midwife

The book my midwife gave me says you should feel the first movements between 16-22 weeks - but will probably be towards the later end if it is your first. I wouldn't worry too much - it depends on lots of things - if your placenta is anterior it can make it take a lot longer to recognise baby's kicking as the movements will be muffled somewhat. Also, up until about 2 weeks ago, I didn't regularly feel baby every day (today however he seems to have taken great enjoyment in kicking near my cervix - ow!)

If you have any worries, don't hesitate in talking to your midwife but I don't think you should be overly concerned - I would understand if you were impatient though! :) Hope you feel baby soon.

My sister didn't feel movement till she was 22 weeks. I didn't feel it with my second until my dr told me that sound i heard while listening to the heartbeat was a kick. I'm certain you will feel it soon. Good luck!

I know from reading various books that you dont generally feel your first baby until much later - usually 20+ weeks and as late as 24 weeks in some cases.

I have felt the odd flutter, which I think must have been tiglet, but they are few and far between - usually only feel something when there is nothing else on my mind (if that makes sense).

Give it a few more weeks yet and am sure you will start feeling movements!

I was expecting to feel my baby kick a lot sooner as this is my second pregnancy, but I didn't feel any kicks until last friday when I would have been 21 weeks. Give it time, I'm sure you'll feel your baby move soon.

When I was pregnant with my first I didn't realise I could feel her kicking until I was at my 20 weeks scan and I saw her kick on the screen and felt it at the same time - I realised then that I had been feeling it for a while but just didn't recognise the feeling as baby kicking (just felt like wind or tummy gurgling!)

Same for me! Now the kicks are quite strong (23 + 2) - she's walloping me now for instance  but not regular yet. She has quiet days where I hardly feel her at all, and other days when she's like Rocky Balboa!
I know how frustrating it is, but I don't think you need to worry yet :)

I also started feeling mine after my 20 week scan and it was about 22 weeks that i could feel proper kicks. I was worried as i kept reading that everyone had bubbling etc.. but i couldnt tell! Try not to worry, im sure everything is just fine.

i still havent felt anything yet either (this being my first) so i wouldnt worry too much

Don't worry! They say with your first pregnancy you first detect movement between 18 - 22 weeks. I think I was around 20 weeks with my first. This time, with my second, I would say around 15 - 16 weeks. It's hard to detect at first, as you aren't sure if it is wind or movement! To me it's like tiny little butterflies! You may have felt your baby already but haven't recognised it yet. Don't worry.
