Oh no, we can't have you forced to eat chocolates!

I just have tomy monitors that are sound only. Nothing flashy, no green/orange/red lights, no mini tv screen etc and it does the job. I don't know why I just don't think the other bits are essential at all and sometimes think we are made to feel they are needed when they are not. Thats just me though, I think there are too many baby things that we are told we need, until you have one and realise its never used.

I think you are probably right!! This is my first baby and Im rather clueless when it comes to all these gadgets, but bloody eastenders has got me paranoid and over the top when it comes to sleeping babies!!! I think I'd rather have the breathing sensor rather than a video screen, as I don't want to turn into an obsessive who sits stirring at the video screen all night! I blame the BBC! xx

That's true, it was a shocking story line! :shakehead:

we have bt ones (http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgu...m_AQ&esq=1&page=1&ndsp=24&ved=1t:429,r:17,s:0) wow thats big. we've found it briiliant. it has o video or breathig sensors, however its sensitive eough that if you are worried about breathing we can hear him over the system (ad we got ours off ebay). You can remotely tur a ight on or play music, which sounds really fancy however on ebay we got it for 25 quid. If you dont wanna listen to every noise which sometimes i struggle to sleep at night for listening to him, if he cries to loud and the monitor is o silent i it bleeps. it show the temp of room and bleeps if too hot/cold. i wuld recommend them highly!!!!

In terms of mattress, we bought the best oe posible it has everything purely for the fact we are planning on using it until he has to move out of his cot/or a younger brother/ister can get use out of it! it wipes down, has a cover you can take off ad wash and also has a spring mattress...

xx

I'd not sleep a wink if I had the video screens and matress sensors. I'm just going to buy the normal baby monitors otherwise i'll go doolally.

i originally bought just a sound one but once he was here and outgrowing his moses basket so fast i bought a sensor one cos he's in his own room now and i am much more relaxed about it knowing that the alarm will go off if anything happened. its personal choice though.
