baby hospital bag

I would maybe pack a few extra vests/sleepsuits in a spare bag and leave it in the boot of the car? No-one wants a long stay in hospital but you never know - and for me it's a case of avoiding oh having to leave me for too long if I'm feeling emotional / needy. Also my friend lost a full outfit in one poo explosion from just a night in hospital so she needed extra stuff just from that. At least if I have spares in the car I know he won't have to go far if they're needed xx

I kind of hope it was a baby poo explosion and not your friend!!

Haha! Yes, should have made that clear - it was a baby poo explosion and not an adult one!! :D

Haha just wanted to double check! That would be embarrassing haha!! X

I have to disagree with the others on newborn clothes. My boys were both big 9lbs 1 and 8lbs 7 (at 38 weeks!) and neither could fit into new born clothes. They are both very tall too though. Asda do first size stuff which was fine for my boys in the hospital bag and did my youngest a couple of weeks.

I have got a set of the first size stuff from Asda in my bag along with some new born and 0-3. Covering all the bases I hope!! X

Bring straws for labour, they're easier to drink through than a bottle or cup and energy tablets such as lucozade ones to give you a boost! x

They any good them lucozade tablets? I've heard a few people mention them. Is lucozade drink ok? I thought it wasn't allowed as is it not an energy drink?

It is in labour vegas lol
(unless you have GD i suppose)

Im gonna buy lucozade sport isotonics
I quite like them
Midwife suggested freezing 2 and when time to go put in a cool bag with the other 2 and it'll make all 4 of them a nice cool temperature x

Lucozade made me throw up last time lol. Just used water this time around.

One of my friends suggested lucozade to me for during pregnancy. I guess it's the same as everything if can fine for some people and not for others X

I've been going over my hospital bag
Its semi packed
I feel like im going on holiday I've got loads
I actually need a full on suitcase. I've got it grouped into various categories atm which are a bag each
Baby stuff, stuff for in labour ward, stuff for maternity ward, stuff for boredom (both of us), snacks (both of us) and toiletries for a shower etc
I cant take 6 bags lol

I've got a weekend bag type of thing with my stuff, plus nappies, then a changing bag with baby's stuff (the pack of nappies didn't fit in once I'd packed clothes, muslins, etc so that's why it's in my bag). Then I have a bag for life with spare stuff to keep in the boot of the car. Can you do something similar with your groupings? Like stuff you want with you but might not need? Extra nappies, spare clothes, etc I've got spare everything packed but it'll stay in the car unless I'm in for longer than a couple of nights. Hubby will have a separate bag with a change of t-shirt for him and all the snacks - so 3 in total (me + baby + hubby)

Snap I'm the same. Accessorize weekender bag packed full for me, changing bag for baby and small rucksack for hubby. Should be all packed and ready to go by the weekend. Still washing couple things :)

I have my mini suitcase packed for me and all the baby clothes etc and hubby has a rucksack I bought him and packed with things for him in like tea bags ( he is a total tea snob and needs his twinings) change of clothes and a wee prezzie from me of a tshirt and a book for him to read to the baby. I just need snacks for us both and I think I'm done. X

So I packed baby's bag, just need to do mine- just weekend type bag. I'm not packing a bag for oh as we are having a planned C/section- there's a canteen and shop at the hospital - for snacks etc I cant eat or drink till after birth- plus a few hours after baby is here be poping home to collect our girls to meet there new sister- so he can freshen up then and bring snacks up. Also I'm packing a presents for our girls from baby.

Babies bag: 3 sleepsuits 0-1mth 3 sleepsuits first size
6 bodysuits - first size (up to 9lbs) bibs,
2 cardigans, 2 baby blankets, baby towel, newborn hats and mittens.
pack nappies, sudo cream, cotton wool, new baby wipes.
Starter milk, just incase I cant feed baby myself.

I had a large holdall for me, small holdall for baby and baby changing bag. When hubby came up he brought a rucksack and took home dirty washing etc replenished snacks and stuff but we didn't keep anything of his at the hospital. He doesn't drive and parking charges are a killer so the bag in the boot is a good idea but not an option for us which sucks! :P

Yeah I guess if a car wasn't an option we'd probably leave the emergency extras at home for him to come and grab if needed. X
