babies first movements

I'm a little bit confused.

What is the first movements suppose to feel like. All the books I've read say something different.
I don't knw if its gas I'm feeling, my own bloodflow or the baby shuffling about and being a mini acrobat....but I'm curious.
I don't knw if I'm imaginging this movement cos I'm so excited or if it is.....I just don't knw what I'm suppose to expect.

You'll probably find that the first movements can feel different for different people and different pregnancies. For example with my first pregnancy it felt like butterflies you get when nervous but this time it felt as though someone was flicking me from the inside.

I got fluttering and I didn't realise itwas a baby someone had to tell me i thought it was my belly doing silly things lol

Mine was bubbling,a bit like gas but lower down. I felt my first movements (and most of the kicks now) within 3inches above my pubic bone xx

With Lacey it felt like bubbles with this one it felt like someone tapping from the inside!

with my daughter it felt like butterflies, and with this little bean ive been feeling popping/bubbling ( not sure if it is the baby, i might just be going insane lol) xxx

With me it felt like bubbles at first, really low down, and like you, wasn't sure if it was wind... But as a trump never followed I put it down to bubby!!!

For me it first started about 16 weeks but gradually the feelings get stronger, like little flicks or taps... And now they're like full on kicks/punches and upto my belly button!!

it felt like gentle flicking from inside! was wierd! now they are quite distinguishable x

Thanks ladies. Its really weird how mine feel like butterflies or mild muscle spasm. Really gentle n fait but noticeable wen I'm sittin down or in the bath. Its so cool. Its like I've got my own lil secret club as DH can't feel what I'm feeling. I can't wait for them to get stronger hehe

ahhh lovely feeling LeaLea!

Don't worry Citygirl, I just get fllicking fingers on the inside now, and i'm 22 weeks, nothing bigger or stronger, and felt nothing till 20 weeks

kids want to feel, so hope they get stronger soon, should do as baby should be 1lb in weight now, but my placenta is at the front so only get them up the top and not often.

Im on the borderline just cant decide whether its baby on not what im feeling lol - guess i will know soon enough when it gets stronger lol x

I have been getting little flicks that feel a bit like when an eyelid flickers when I am tired. The flicks tickle and made me laugh so I know it is baby and not wind, that doesnt make me laugh, lol.
