Babies behind bars

The girl who was on her 6th living child, and just rhymed off where all her kids were.. "3 were adopted, 2 with my cousin, 1 with their daddy" or something to that effect.. I don't think it's fair letting the baby bond with the mother until the age of 1 for the mother to go out and possibly reoffend or get back on drugs, then the child could be taken away and know about it :( I don't like assuming things about people, but 2 women in particular had 6/8 kids and they were in jail, they didn't change for those children what's gonna make them change for this one? :( Poor babies, if I have enough room and hands and didn't need sleep I would have them all, they just want to be loved x

I was shocked she was given a place on the unit! I thought the 20 year old with her life ahead of her and a chance to change her life BEFORE she ends up like the other one should've got a place! Taking a child away like that is not going to help her turn her life around.

I agree! X

I truly believe Donna would have turned her life around, as for the others I'm not so sure x

Angel - it is not as you say the discipline of a martial art or any type of physical training which upset me about the documentary. It was the wording of the parents and their attitude more than anything. The boys obviously enjoyed what they do but have they been moulded that way! The little boy who fought abroad had been put in the ring aged 2 against an oppontent! I cant believ that any child that age or even 5 as the young crying girl was could enjoy that! Teaching children to defend/punch etc is nothing different to what I teach mine! but to fight - really fight - its just not right at that age in my opinion! I think a child should be old enough to make an informed decision before fighting someone in that type of controlled environment! xxxxxx

TBH I totally agree, I dont really believe in children under 7 competing (and at that only semi contact with full padding and protection) , and at 2 thats just way too young. The one thing I noticed about the program was how the parents were saying stuff like 'It was MY dream to be a champion!! I wish someone had moulded ME into a great fighter' It seemed like the majority of the parents were living their dreams through their kids and probably had never set foot in a ring in their lives, so they dont understand the pressure a child would go through competing xxxxxx
