Hi is this the blood test they do at your scan? I haven’t heard back yet, they did tell me the results would be available within 2 hours or they can call me if there is a problem. If there is no call then nothing to worry about. Not sure if I should call to confirm

No, this is the one you’ll be offered if you are found to be high risk after the having blood test and 12 week scan. This looks more in depth at the DNA of baby so although still gives you a risk factor is a lot more accurate. 4 years ago I was given 1 in 15 of having an issue, we were given the Harmony Test on NHS and then were finally given new odds of 1 in 1,000,000.

So this time around we already said we’d pay privately at the 10 week mark just so we knew xx

I got my results back from the hospital testing for Edwards and Down syndrome, it’s come back as low risk. But the harmony seems more reliable ... would you recommend I do the harmony test also to be safer as the number out of how many is greater on the harmony test is greater than that of the NHS test. Or am I just wasting money ?

I think it is totally up to you. I was going to get that one like Mel got but I spoke to my midwife yesterday and said you will be fine it is low risk gave me number and said scan showed no fluid at all so my OH said to leave it unless my anxiety was bad. Go with what you think best. But great news your results came back low risk. For me felt immediate relief after hearing that xx

Hi Leila,

Amazing news that you’re low risk. It’s such a relief :)

I personally wouldn’t feel the need to test further.
Do you know what exact results you were given? xx

they seem quite confusing

as I am over 35 it says my risk is higher so the 1/250 is more of a risk I’ll have a look and try to send over.
