So went to docs this morning with my assertive cap on - and it worked! Doc was nicer than other gp and didn't try to fob us off with things she didn't understand. She was about to tell me to wait until after gynae appt but I said I wanted referring straight away to fertility clinic so we have a referral for 9th May. Finally going to get some answers - they might get us to try for a bit longer before treatment but at least I'll know what's going on!

Gotta go back to gp later for blood tests for chylamdia (even though already had the test I think - they can't find the results) and rubella - bet I am not immune and have to wait! Hubby gotta take a semen sample next week to pathology at hospital - he is being very cool about it though. V glad he was there this morning as I think she took us more seriously.

Thanks for all the advice girlies, glad we went back and can get things sorted soon xxxx

That is great news Sarah, its such a feeling of relief when you know things are getting done!!!

Best to get as many tests done now by your GP so that when you go for your specialist appt they can hopefully get you started on the good stuff quicker and not delay things for even longer.

Glad to hear your hubby is fine about doing his sample, mine done it in the hospital toilets as he was worried about missing the one hour window lol

Welcome to the forum Assertive Sarah ;)

This is fantastic news - i'm so glad that you got everything out of the appointment that you was hoping for! Yay for you and hubby

My hubby is 36 and they definately seemed less inclined to talk down to us when he was there. It's like 2 vs 1 :)

The 9th May will be here before you know it :D

Brilliant news.

Well done you.

I too find that they tend to take me a LOT more seriously with my husband there.

It certainly pays to be assertive, well done you! Good luck with the test hun xx
