This might sound a bit off topic and have put off posting this for a week, but has anyone ever had an armpit lump during pregnancy? Im almost 14 weeks preg. Ive got this pea sized hard lump in my armpit. Its hard and not painful unless i really start squeezing at it. It seems to be just under the surface of the skin. Its also at the top of my armpit, like if i raise my arm up its more towards the top rather than mid way or low towards the breast. I did go to the doctors 2 weeks ago and she told me she doesnt think its anything serious. But its really playing on my mind to the point i cant sleep for thinking the worst. Thanks in advance

Just go straight back hun. Any lump should be looked into. It now likely is a harmless cyst but ask the GP to look at it further for peace of mind xx

Yeah I agree it sounds like a cyst but go back to the doctors and say it's causing you a lot of pain, I think they can drain it. Make sure to keep the area clean (armpits are hard I know! E.g. With a sterile wipe etc). In the mean time hold warm compresses over it x

I had this and as I have a family history of breast cancer it worries me too. The Dr was very reassuring and said it's nothing serious and too high up the armpit to be cancer but to go back in two weeks if it was still there and they would do an ultrasound. Within two weeks it had gone.

If you are still worried then I would rebook within two weeks, if only for peace of mind.

It could be a cyst, or it could be a swollen lymph node! I had a swollen lymph node years ago when I was shaving too much under my arms - they just treated me with antibiotics! I wouldn't have thought it would be anything to worry about but with things like this it's always best to be sure, so I'd definitely recommend going back and having it looked into further.

I had a pea sized lump on my side, right on my waist, and it only hurt when I pressed hard on it. Just checked it now, it's gone so no idea what it was about!

If you're worried, go back. It's probably nothing, but if your instinct tells you to get it looked at properly then go for it :)

Thanks, ill definatly go back. Im pretty sure its not a lymph node as its right under the skins surface and i have had swollen lymph nodes before and there usually painful and deeper within the flesh. This feels like its actually attatched to the under skins surface. I tried the hot compress for a few days it did seem to shrink abit n soften it. But then the day after it just became a hard ball again.

You could try magnesium sulphate paste. You can get a pot in boots (pharmacy) but I'd check with the pharmacist first that it's safe for use in pg. I think it must be but it's been a long time since I've used it. It's good for drawing things out of the skin x

I used that paste in pregnancy for a splinter the pharmacist actually recommended it to me.

It could also be a blocked duct. Unusual in pregnancy but still possible
