Wednesday 10th Sept
Been having contractions but was told they were just the presure of Archies head.
Thursday 11th Sept
Woke at around 6am and was getting pains that were off and on all day but thought nothing of it. 10 pm i was getting them so bad and so OH called the ward midwife but was told take some paracetamol and take a warm bath. At about 12.30 am they were every 6 minutes so tried to get some sleep.
Friday 12 Sept
Didnt get any sleep and so called my sister at about 8am to ask her come over to help time them. Sister sat untill 3.20pm and we decided that we would call the ward as they were every 3 mins.
Hospital asked me go in and we got there about 3.50, got taken to the assesment room and was told i was 3-4cm dilated and MW was shocked lol
Got taken to my own room with a TV and a comfy bed and they said they would asses me again in a couple of hours. If my waters hadnt of broke by then they would do it. 2 hours later it hadnt changed so she said "ok lets get them broken and start you off". So at around 7pm i had my waters broken and was told to wait a couple of hours and they would look again.
Around 9ish MW changed over and the contractions were 1min on 1 min off and they were killing me. Gas and air was making me feel sick and dizzy and so i had pethadine.
10pm MW gave the pethadine and all that did was make me tired and sick. I tried to sleep but contractions were every 40 seconds. I started panting and puffing and i was in agony but got through it with my sister and OH with me.
Just after 10pm i started saying i wanted to push and MW said but you wont be far enough dilated. After my next contraction she did a check and i was 10cm so was alowed push. My god it felt great to push.
At about 11.20 my OH said i needed hurry up as his car park ticket run out at 11.40
so after i gave him one look and pushed so hard i saw stars Archie was born at 11.39 straight onto my chest
So at 3 weeks early he weighs 6lb 5oz and is just the most stunning little man i have ever seen. I didnt tear just a small graze on my left side.
Im still in shock because i was expecting get sent home lol. I have tried BF but i dont think i have enough so mum has gone get me some formula
Sorry its not very in depth but its hard holding a baby and typing with one hand lol
