Hey ladies, I have been toying with the idea of aqua natal for a while now, just wondered when the best time to start these are, and your experiences of the classes? Obviously I know the excercise element can only be a good thing but are.there any other benefits? I'm dreading getting in a costume...

I'd say the social side can only be a good thing too. Try mothercare for a maternity swimsuit, I got a lovely one in the sale xx

I've thought about this, unfortunately I dont think I will end up doing them x

It should be especially good for your back as during pregnancy, back problems can hinder daily activity and your feet should feel really good too.
You should go for it! You'll enjoy your time out and the exercise too

I want to do these too, they run at a pool near me!!

I don't know when we start them though.. Going to ask MW when I see her on the 1st.

I've been going since about 30 weeks, but would have started much sooner if the classes hadn't clashed with something else. At my pool, they allow ladies in from 17 weeks pregnant. It's free, it's good for you and you get to meet other mums to be. TBH, our classes are a bit tame - like really easy aquaerobics, but they are a giggle and because we're already in the pool when the next session starts, we can just stay there for an extra swim after the class. That way I also get some proper exercise in. I love swimming and it really does take the weight off your joints and keeps you mobile, so I'd say go for it as soon as you can. And don't worry about how you look in a swimming cossie - nobody cares. xx

Are they the kind of classes where you take OH with you? xx

No I doubt he'd enjoy it much, it's just an exercise class for mums to be. No harm in him going for a swim while you're doing it though xx

Oh I wish ours were free, £5.10 per session, I'm now wondering if it'll help or hinder my hip pain (another thread).

Thanks for responses xx

Hey! W have aquanatal here but can't make the class so go to aquaerobics and it's helping my back no end. Same price here but I'd recommend going to one or the other if you canxx

i loved it, it really took the weight of my bump off me for the duration of the class, such a relief at 38 weeks lol. id have gone just to float around

Hi Bev - it's fun and a nice relief isn't it? Shame I couldn't come when you were still going to the classes! Hope you and Alyssa are really well xx
