Appointment tomorrow (scared)!

Hi lovely ladies,
I have an appointment tomorrow evening and I am petrified! I haven't been to see the Dr for a while now. and sooo worried something might be wrong with the baby! I am soo stressed I hope things are ok.

The other thing I need to know plz although tmi.. I have complained to the Dr that I am having terrible constipation and she asked me to go and see her... I have never been checked for things like piles..etc plz plz plz if any one knows let me know from now what to expect as I am really shy and if I know in advance what to expect I will feel better and prepared?? any ideas??

Sure you'll be fine hun - whatever they have to do it can't be as bad as living with the discomfort you are at the moment

When I saw my doctor with severe constipation she did have a feel with a gloved finger to check I didnt have any impaction

It took less than a couple of mins and was no worse than having a smear test or something!!

Im sure as you have been through labour etc you will be absolutely fine........just think of the relief after seeing the doctor as Im sure they will be able to prescribe something!!

yep i had a lot of stomach problems a few years back, its complicated so i won't go into it now and i had the gloved finger up my bum you lie on your side, knees up to your chin, and from what i remember it didn't hurt, it was just cold from the lubricant they used, and a tad embarrasing, but hey i would rather be the receiver than the giver in that situation anytime don't worry hun, they have seen and done things a million times so nothing to worry about or be embarassed about. good luck and hope all is well, and i have constipation too, prune juice worked for a while, now nothing works

OMG now I won't be able to sleep lool it seems soo embaressing really!! I know I've been through labour but thats different once I am in labour nothing mattered really lool!! I will be fine I am just a bit shy.

Whatever they do - it can't be as embarrassing as when I hyperventilated at home and my parents had to call out the emergency GP - he gave me a sedative up the bum!!!!! The result being that I fell asleep with my naked arse sticking out.

Just think of that and you'll be fine (cos you'll be laughing to hard to care!)

LOOL babyblonde! u know whats my problem! I feel that I am a lady and in an appointment it feels formal and I am well behaved, dressed well, make up soo it isn't like the time of labour lool. I know I am a bit spoilt at this part maybe because I didn't see any Dr of this matter before! I'll let u all know how things go

Plus, how can you be embarassed about something like a doctors appointment when you know that this happens to people..

Hi thanx hun for asking,
just got back few hours ago, baby is fine but I wasn't happy with this Dr at all! well I went to a private medical center as the hospital we have like the NHS is very very crowded and I need to get a new medical card as well. any way the Dr seems to be from east eurpoe or russia not sure really... she did things which I wasn't happy with at all!!!

1- she did an ultra sound which was fine as I can see the baby jumping and heard a little heartbeat! she tried to calculate a due date and everytime it's a different date ranging from 30/6 to 10/7! so If she was right I should already be in tri2!

2- After doing the scan on my tummy she said I will do a vaginal one to determine the sex of the baby! I was excited that she would be able to do so! guess what! it was a waste coz she wasn't able to tell!!

3- She checked my cervix I was shocked , she did that coz I needed a pap smear test which she did and was a bit uncofortble! and she checked the cervix with her finger and I asked why did she do that she said to check if the cervix has any infection or I don't know what! and it was clear!

4- She didn't do any rectal examinaion but checking the cervix she had a feeling of the rectum and knew it wasn't ok so she prescribed laxatives which I hope will work!

After all I have a question coz I am not sure about this type of ppl... when she examined my cervix with her finger I was a bit uncomfortable she told me (relax it's like ur husband doing it)!!!! and later when I was laying down without my pants she was talking to me and at the same time moving her hands on my legs! I was petrified really! I don't think I am going to this place again never ever!

Sorry this is a long post, although my experience with this Dr was awful but I am happy baby is fine! and in about 2 weeks I will go for a professional scan (somewhere I am used to go) to determine the gender and date!

Well on the plus side the baby sounds well - so yay!

I have no idea how the vaginal examination could indicate sex of the baby...is that bull or am I missing something?

but if you are not comfortable with doctor - then find someone else I think!

sorry maybe I didn't explain well, it's not a vaginal examination it's a vaginal ultra sound. she thought she would see better if she scanned me from down there!

Definitely see someone else next time
