as above really^^^!! have had a Vodafone contract since aug 12th & have made a big mistake really, want to go back to pay as you go so i know exactly what i am spending, please can anyone advise??
thanks.

you have a week cooling off period to get out of a new contract
i think the only way you will be able to get out of it now is to pay the remanining months
line rental upfront, what dont you like about the contract hun?

do you mean i can pay all the line rental fees & then switch the same phone to pay as you go?
the problem is that i took out the contract with a Samsung Tocco, with Vodafone for 12 mths for £25 (supposedly) per mth.
150 txts & 50 mins, anyway they neglected to tell me that as i took the phone mid-ish month (12th aug) then i would only get half of my useage of txt & mins, well i'm happily using all my mins up & txts till the 12th sept, then i did a bill check thing & my 1st bill on 30th sept is going to be £44!!!
so the phone is not gonna cost me £ 25 p mth like i thought!!
help

Is that not maybe just the first month, so in effect you are paying a month and a half the it will go back to the £25 quid. Ive got a vodaphone contract and Ive never had a bill that high. Thats odd

you can only buy out the remaining contract which will be very expensive!

We got a contract last year, realised we were being charged double what we were told, swopped the phone to pay as you go, got the company to sent us to a debt company, now buying out the contract on £5 a month (its worth over a grand opppise!) only reccomend this if you dont care about your credit rating!

yes i think this is what the man i spoke to said, but now i am worried as i also think they add VAT on top of your monthly tarriff? may be wrong though.
i cant buy out the contract either as i get 6 months half price by redemption, so i have to have the phone to send off the last few bills to get it half price :wall: :wall:
i just dont like not knowing or understaning how much i have spent & what my bill will be.
they also charged my £2.50 for clicking on the internet on the phone by accident!! there is no keypad lock on the Tocco so you can get things coming up on screen when the phones in your bag coz its touch sensetive :wall:

Is there not a keypad lock button on the side?

Ive just had the same problem... I stupidly changed from vodafone to 3 and its gotta be the worst network I have ever been on... I had the phone 8 days and tried to send it back and was told I only had 7 days to return it!!! so now im stuck with it! I would do anything just to stick with vodafone and could cry!!

My old phone kept going online and I never used internet anyway, so I rang orange and got the internet settings swtiched off.

o wow you can do that! i'll try that then as i will never use the internet on my phone, what is the point when i have a desk top at home!!

found this if that dont work

both these came up so one must work not sure exactly the make of your phone

You can turn it on quite easy with the HOLD button at the top of the phone. Also if you ever forget to lock it, It's very rare anything happens. Once the screen goes blank it deactivates and you have to press the CALL or END keys to wake it up. And the CALL and END keys are so flat it's very rare you press them by accident. I find it much easier to just lock it yourself

How do I lock/unlock the keypad? APress and hold the star (*) key when in idle mode to lock the keypad. Press menu then the hash (#) key to unlock. Was this helpful for you? > Yes

your first month contract bill is always more the first month due to paying normally the remaining months + next months so you are paying in advance.

does vodafone offer an online account so you can check you mins + messages remaining .

im on o2 and can check how many i have left

hankyou girls, have now found the 'lock' button  only had the phone 6 wks!! what a div!!
yes i did join vodafone online to check mins etc, but this took away my paper billing option, so meant i cant claim the redemtion 6 mths half price, so have had to go back to apere billing :wall: :wall:
god all this is way too complicated for me!
do you pay VAT on top of your monthly payment?

give vodafone a call say u want paper billing + option to view mins + messages online still

You do pay vat but its included in line rental, so if you got £25 a month that what u pay

also make sure they not added phone insurance at all as they like to do this when getting a contract phone
