    Hi everyone!

Just wondering if there's anyone out there in the same or similar situation as me?

Been TTC for just over a year now so my Dr is getting everything together to send off with my fertility clinic referral letter.

Only problem is my cycles are really REALLY long so I never know where I am, she can't do the blood tests at certain times of the month like your meant to cos god knows where in my cycle I am! She just did random bloods (must have been day 40) and she said all it showed was low progesterone and didn't know how significant this is. The ones i had done a while ago showed i ovulated. She said best to just refer me and see what they can find out.

So is there anyone else who never has a clue about where in cycle you are or anyone with low progesterone? What do you do about it cos I always just feel I'm having all this sex for no reason and probably at completely wrong times cos never know if/when I've ovulated! :wall:

    Thanks xx

I have ridiculously long cycles (well to be honest I don't really have cycles at all). I had blood tests and then internal scan done that showed pcos - don't know about progesterone. I find it incredibly frustrating - my oh keeps saying we need to have sex really regularly just in case but I kept thinking what's the point?

Good to hear doctor is going to refer you - fx you get some answers soon.

Thanks for replying. It's so annoying isn't it!?

My oh doesn't get it either, think he needs a lesson in women's stuff so he can understand what I try telling him! We have been DTD every other day, I know it's pointless but just let him keep thinking its doing some good.

Pcos seems so common. I've been scanned before a couple of years ago and I didn't have it, and my testosterone levels are normal, been told if I had pcos it should be high. So god knows what's wrong with me! I'm really dreading it!! :-S xx

I have really unusual cycles too, been off the pill for 10 months but only ovulated twice that I know of. It's so frustrating! Hope you get some answers from the docs x

I know! I have found it worrying how little my oh understands about how everything is supposed to work. I suppose I shouldn't be too hard on him - he is doing his SA tomorrow which I don't think he's looking forward to!

Really hope you get some answers soon. Good for you dtd every other day in the meantime - you've got a good chance then of catching the egg when you do O. How often do you do hpts? I never know when to do them but there's always the thought that there could be a ting chance which makes me want to poas all the time! Even though it's always bfn, I can't stop thinking "maybe this time..."!

God we sound exactly the same lol! I spend sooo much money each month on preg tests! Cos I never know when I ov, so I just do them all the time! Then obviously get really depressed when its a bfn, even though I knew it would!

Don't get me started on the sperm tests!! My dr told me a month ago he needs to do it but he was convinced he didn't need to seeing as its my periods which are messed up. So went to doctors today and she said she can't send it all off until she has his results too! So now gotta wait for him to do it! Grrr! He's going on Monday. He's really not happy he couldn't get away with it lol! I told him to think about all the stuff I'm gonna have to go through trying to get pregnant and all through pregnancy and labour lol! xx

So glad to know I am not the only one peeing on sticks all the time!!

That's exactly what I said to my dh too - if I had to have an internal scan and that's before even thinking about getting up the duff, you can do the SA test!! I got him to ask his gp as we are going to fertility clinic in a couple of weeks and I'm really hoping they will say let's get started with treatment rather than just sending us for more and more tests. But I suspect they will just drag their feet some more, already feels like an eternity that we've been waiting for this appointment!

Is your fertility appointment through the nhs? If so how long did it take to hear back from them with an appointment time?

I'm in process of being referred now but worried its gonna take months to even hear back once it's all sent off! x

Yes it's nhs. I was referred by my gp, I think she booked the appointment through some kind of online system. I got the date a week or so after seeing her but it will be a two month gap between booking the appointment and it actually happening. I'm sure they string it out in the hope lots of ladies will get a bfp naturally in the meantime but with no periods in the past 10 months that feels like waiting for a miracle!!

Has your gp sent off your referral now?

Oh right, yeah I thought it would be a long wait - annoying! I read that it's whilst waiting to be referred when a lot of women get preg. But as you say, bit hard when you don't have periods!

No she hasn't sent it yet cos my stupid oh didn't do his sperm test a month ago. Once he gets results back she needs them to send everything off to hospital. x

That's funny that they made you do the SA before referral - we didn't have to. I just got my oh to do it anyway as I figured it would be one less unanswered Q at the appointment. I find it so weird how random the way you get treated is depending on where you live - you would think it would be easier and fairer just to have a consistent approach?!

Yeah you would think that, I bet you wait 2 months for appointment and I will probs wait a year!

She told me if she doesn't have his test to send off they will just send it back!

What else did you have to do? I had to do urine chlamydia test too and bloods. Think that's it. x

Mine dragged his heels about the SA test too, it was annoying cos then it took us over the age threshold for free treatment! He's got to pay for it now but I'm still the one that will have to go through it all.

Have you tried Agnus Castus to shorten your cycle? Not sure if it works with PCOS but it shortened mine significantly.

I'm irregular so I do ovulation tests so I know when I've ovulated so I know when to test it I don't come on.....
Although I seem to get a smiley on cd14 then 2 weeks after when af is meant to arrive, it doesn't- I get all excited thinking I'm pregnant, turns out I got the lh surge but didn't ovulate, so then 2 weeks after I was meant to have af I get another smiley then 2 weeks after that I actually come on.... So my cycles seem to be ovulate every other month... But I still dtd and the tests incase I do actually get a period every 4 weeks like I should! I know how u feel! It's a pain :(
