hi hun

just asked dh (plumber) and he said people we know use a tank (1000 litres) a year ( would totally depend on how big house was and how hot you have heating etc) and that costs just under £400 he thinks.

phil said its just as (if not a little more) efficiant than gas its just a bit more hassle cos of delivery, it smells a bit too. and its worse for the environment.

hope that helps some!

I live on Corfu and the majority of central heating here is oil fuelled. It dosnt smell although we do have to get tank filled and it does work out quite expensive (for over here), I dont know how many litres the tank holds as we rent our home but for us to 1/2 fill it costs us 120e and that lasts us roughly 3 months during the winter, we only have 3 radiators and try to only use it in evenings. during summer we find that an hour a day is plenty for hot water. also it can be quite noisy with the generator thingy coming on and off.

The most annoying thing is when you turn it on and nothing happens as the oil has run out and you then have to wait a day or two before tanker can come out to fill it, still it's either that or nothin for us!!!!
