I went to the doctors yesterday who said I must be pregnant after doing 4 home tests.

It's really strange being told you are pregnant as you don't know whether to celebrate or get excited incase you turn out to be one of the unlucky ones.

Now I am not sure what to do next, so, I was thinking perhaps I should get a book?

Does anyone recommend one?

 Welcome to the forum and congrats :)

There's a thread about recommended books somewhere....I'll search for it....BRB

 When I seen this I was running in to tell you to go get any Marian Keyes books.. Was clearly thinking different! Congratulations and welcome  I didn't buy a book, I constantly browsed the net, read blogs, birth stories, signed up to lots of different websites to get all the information I needed week by week emailed to me.. But I was reccomended "What to expect when you're expecting" lots.. But I never actually got it

You can get what to expect when you are expecting as a free iPhone app.

I got a great book called the Day by Day Pregnancy book by Maggie Blott. It's got loads of info and pictures of what bubba will look like all the way through. It's hardback and £25 in the shops, I got if from amazon for £16 something delivered!

What to expect is VERY negative IMO and I definitely wouldnt recommend it!!

Mervs Mum a post from you on that book thread you listed says-

Bestfeeding: How to Breastfeed Your Baby - simple concise guide to BFing I read as part of my BF training and it's a great little reference book.

Do you know who wrote this one? I know nothing about breastfeeding and am going to give it a try this time round, fancy having more of an idea before hand , thanks JJ

Depends on how "real" you want the book to be. My friend has given me a book called "Your Pregnancy Bible" which is very nicey nicey. Tracks baby's growth and how your body changes etc. Then again, my husband bought me a book called "Blooming Birth" which is gritty and realistic, but without being scary it's just informative. Enjoy your nine months!! I too have spent the first three of mine reading anything I can get my hands on to do with pregnancy!
