Anyone had these tests??

Hi girls, well ive been to the doctors as been having pain in back, abdominals and hips for the past few months 2 weeks leading up to af. Doctor ruled out anything muscular, but is sending me for a scan to check for anything like cysts on my ovaries/tubes. Has anyone else been through this??
Also im having my 21 day bloods done to check that im ov'ing as its been a year. But my doc said to go in tomorrow (mon) but i worked it out that cd1 was 30th april... so cd21 would be thursday 20th.. is that right?? shall i cancel and re book or go anyway as she wants to check for anaemia and my thyroid too. What do you think, what happens with the 21 day bloods, how do they tell im ov'ing??

CD21 would be Thursday 20th - I'd call them to let them know. I was also sent for scans when I was having severe abdominal pain on and off years ago - they just did internal scans to look at my tubes and ovaries. Hope everything's ok At least with scans you do get to find out straight away if something doesn't look quite right x

I've previously been referred for abdo pains that they thought could be ovary related and everything came back as being fine hun, I had scans, smears and even an op cos they couldn't find anything to be causing the pain and all they said is that it must just be a weakness I have and there is absolutely nothing wrong so keep your chin up hun, it doesn't mean anything is wrong.

Ah thanks girls, put my mind at ease a bit, i know im probably worrying about nothing.

Sam's mum my doc said that i would have to go and see her a week after my scan as she would have the results then? bit confused cause as you said it should be that i get an answer straight away.. :/ mmm suppose i will know more when i get to scan. xxx

Ok so now i am sooo confused.. spoke to my doctor this morning about when day21 was for me.. so this is what she said.. because my cycles are 32-35days, my blood tests are pushed back as i may ov later.. so now got to have my bloods done on wed 26th next week when i am cd27?? i have read that this test needs to be done 7 days before af... xxx

CD27 for blood test sounds about right if you are on a 35 day cycle,
It would be CD21 if you have 28 day cycles

I had the scans and blood tests last year but all came back ok with no problems,

When I had my scan the doctor said that everything was normal but to see my GP for full scan results,

Ah thanks bonny, all this is so new to me and its completely spinning me out! why theycall them 21 day bloods when they are different for everyone i dont know!! I now have a whole week to work myself up about having blood taken as i dont give easily.. last time it took 5 attempts. lol xxx

Maybe it's different in different places. It was 5 years ago that I had my scans and had a consultant appointment booked at the same time soI went straight there to discuss the scans - it could have been because I was referred for scans by the consultant at the hospital and you've been sent by your GP so she'll be the one to go over the results once they're sent to her x

Oh sorry, that makes sense if your cycles are longer as Bonny said, as you usually ovulate approximately 14 days before the start of your next cycle, rather than 14 days from the start

Ah ok thats interesting as i thought i had ov'd on day 14, had lots of ewcm... only to get it today aswell... sooo maybe im ov'ing now do you think?? ha ha and there was was hubby thinking his job was over for the month!! xxx

No rest for your hubby yet It's quite possible that you're ovulating now - timing looks about right from your ticker. It does vary between people with cycles of the same length though. I had a 28 day cycle and usually ovulated around CD16

Hi K8, sounds like the tests they did for me. Although I wasnt having any pain, i just wasnt having periods.
So they tested DH's sperm first, they then did blood tests on me to check my hormone levels. I also had an ultrasound scan to check my ovaries and then I had an x ray taken where they put dye in my tubes to check for blockages. Sounds like pretty standard tests to check everything is OK.

I had a blood test last week and am waiting for a scan date to find out why my cycles are so irregular. I wasnt told to wait for a certain cd as I can never tell. The doctor did say that for a scan they might want to wait until after my next af, but again we dont know when that will be. I am hoping I wont have another af for 9 months though, lol. PMA PMA!

Fingers crossed for you mrs b that you dont have to wait too long.. does anyone else feel that their life while ttc is just one big long wait?? lol I wasnt told i had to wait for a certain time, but i havent had any letters from the hospital yet anyway... shouldnt be too long, im having the scan at the local small hospital, and their waiting list isnt usually that long. xxx
