This may be something I have to make a decision on next week but cant find much info. Has anyone had a breech presentation turned by your doctor? What was it like? What were the pros and cons?? X

Hiya. I've had a couple of friends have ECV and they said it was uncomfortable.
Was watching from here to maternity the other day and they did it on there. OB said some babies don't like it which is rare. So they need a csection straight away.
Thy should go through the risks of it before you have it done. Please go with your instincts.

I don't know much about it, but know my neighbour had her baby turned by a consultant at around 36 weeks and went on to have a successful labour. And someone else I know had it done and their husband said it left stretch marks on his wifes tummy cos they were pushing so hard. Sorry, not much help but it's the only experience I have of them.

We had this offered to us too as our LO is still breech, but my OH's mum had this done and had to go straight for c-section as baby got into distress. We are trying to avoid emergency c-section at all costs, as it's just going to be far too stressful. Spoke to midwives and consultants and also read up a lot about it and made up our mind to go straight for elective c-section if she's still breech (which she is).

It's a matter of personal preference and depends on how well wedged in you think LO is. I know my bubs head has not moved at all the entire pregnancy, right up there in my ribcage. I figure if she hasn't even attempted to move herself naturally then I'm not going to risk it. I think it'd be different if she'd maybe done a few rotations before hand.

It's not for everyone and there's always the risk baby will flip back to breech again, so it'd be pointless.

Hope that you can make your mind up about it soon, it can be scary opting for c-section especially when they go over all the complications that can arise during and after the section and with births in the future, and when they get you to sign the forms to say they can give you a hysterectomy if they can't stop bleeding etc. Just glad I know when my LO will be coming and I'm not going to be stunned into a mass of people rushing around for an emergency section.

Best of luck :) If I have my section before your LO is here I will be posting about it anyway for sure, so keep a look out :) Booked in for the 9th of Jan. xxx

Will keep an eye out. Shes hardly moved all pregnancy im leaning towards a scheduled section to be fair. Booked in to see my consultant on 4th Jan but will be eagerly awaiting ur birth story!!! X
