Forgot to mention also found out yesterday that I am Rhesus Negitive which means I have to have extra injections throughout my pregnancy - great!

Ah well at least they know and I will be treated.

Anyone else in the same boat? Are you worried?

If it's any consolation, I have to have an injection everyday for an entirely different reason so I know how you're feeling. Never mind, it's only for 9 months and the result is very worth it. Chin up!!!

thanks for the reply timsmom sorry to hear you have to have an injection every day what a pain the must be, but hey ho at the end of it we will have something so wonderful I am sure we will not even think about the blasted injections.

Yes thank god our babies are being born now and not half a century ago. My babies wouldn't have made it in to the world then, so modern science, even with it's damned injections is very welome. Good luck Springbaby for you, everythings going to be fine!! I think you're about a week and a half in front of me so we can keep an eye on each other...oh god now I sound like a stalker!!! :rotfl:

It was never a problem with both pregnancies. Just one more jag to get.

i got 3 of the anti D  .
one at 26 weeks, one at 34 weeks and one straight after birth.
anyone know if i'll need to get them again with this pregnancy?

Dont wory springbaby, it only takes a second and doesn't hurt ( i got mine in my bum) :D .

I got an emergency one at 20 weeks as I was pushed over quite badly and wanted to be on the safe side. I had blood tests about 28 weeks but because I wasn't producing antibodies I didn't have to have the anti-d. Then I had the anti-d after I had Ry cos he's A+ and I'm A-.

Mine were in my bum too, and the first one I had felt like rubbing deep heat on!!! Like a warm feeling lol. The one I had after Ryan I hardly felt really though she did miss me first time and make me jump LOL.

It's nothing to be worried about, but if you have any major bumps/falls pop along to the docs/midwife for their advice and like me you may be given emergency anti-d. Better to be safe than sorry.

 x

thanks for all your replies girls so nice to have people to chat to who have been through something similar. I am not worried, am pleased that at least I know now and that there is something they can do, not a fan of injections but then who is!

Yes i'm negative, but i was told not to worry this pregnancy they monitor it more in further pregnancies....not sure?....

Anna i think its because if your baby has a different blood group from you then your body sees that at 'foreign' and therefore if another baby comes along with a different blood group then your body may reject the baby, dont qoute me on that, its my memory from 6th year biology  .

I'm rhesus neg too. Been jabbed countless times throughout my previous pregnancies due mainly to bleeding.

I had to have the injection after the birth of my daughter but with my son I didn't as he is also rhesus neg!

I only had the one jab with my daughter - at about 30 weeks. DIdn't need one after as she is also rhesus neg.

Have been told I'll get 2 jabs with this baby (different hospital, not sure if it is anything to do with it being my 2nd pregnancy) and then another is baby is rhesus positive.

I didn't realise there was anything different to be honest. I just got an injection and that was that. Like others have said, the only real different thing is that if you have a knock or fall, best go to your midwife for emergency anti-D
