I'm 16 weeks with number 5. I have 3 girls age 5, 8 and 10. And a son who is 12. I would really like to chat with other mums that have a big brood!

Ah I love it! We are hoping for 5 :) I am almost 18 weeks with baby 4. My daughters are almost 2 and almost 7, and my son is almost 4. How are you feeling?

I'm 24 weeks pregnant with my 6th!

We have 3 boys and 2 girls ranging in age from 17 down to 5.

Oh lovely! Hello everyone! I'm really excited. I'm feeling really good right now. Must be the 2nd trimester bloom but have had a few stressful days preparing for property inspection by agency. I feel a weird mixture of, I got this, I'm a expert baby mumma and oh no what if I have just forgotten what it's like having a baby!! Lol
Going to see the consultant soon, apparently it's routine for 5th or more to check in healthy and my womb isn't about to fall out from over use lol. Really hoping for a home birth again this time.

How many weeks will you be when you see the consultant?

I don't have a lot of faith in my medical team, they made a lot of mistakes with me in the past. We don't have paper notes here anymore and I finally got access to my online notes a couple of weeks ago and my care plan says I should have had an extra scan at 16 weeks and seen the consultant. None of which happened. Also said they should check the blood flow through the cord at my 20 weeks scan which they didn't do. I had problems with my last 2 babies (high blood pressure, IUGR) and so they should be keeping a close eye on me but for some reason I only see them for an appointment every 6 weeks. With my last baby it was fortnightly and then weekly from around 28 weeks.

I feel ok in myself and baby is very active so I'm taking that as a good sign.

That's awful pingu! Are you going to say something to them? I will be 20 weeks when I see consultant. It was supposed to be this week but I rescheduled because the appointment clashed with collecting my youngest from school.

My last pregnancy was the best healthcare wise but didn't have great experience with a couple of the others. Number 3 was born on the maternity ward because they didn't believe me I was in full Labour. But that sounds like some serious failings from your medical people!

I am still only early girls at 8+4. Had nausea on and off and sore boobies. But had spotting on and off since I got my BFP! I have had several scans and baby is fine and in the right place I have a history of early miscarriage due to factor v lieden blood clotting disorder and I had an ectopic pregnancy before my 4th. Started on clexane injections to thin my blood couple of weeks ago.
Got another private scan on Tuesday but my 12 week scan isn't until 9th October when I am coming up to 14 weeks.
My 4th baby was an emergency section at 37 +3 I was induced as he was in an unstable lie. His heart rate dropped and he was stuck in my pelvis. I haemorraged and ended up in HDU and had blood transfusion. I didn't plan on a 5th but never ruled it out but here we are. Trying to put delivery out of my mind as I have enough going on with early pregnancy to keep me going. But when I do wander onto it I am scared sh**less and worried about the high risk of haemorrage again xxx

greenflowers I will be asking at my next appointment why it is written in my care plan but hasn't happened. I'm guessing because my blood pressure is ok at the moment that they feel all is fine.

I nearly had a baby on the antenatal ward too, my 3rd. I had to stay in due to low lying placenta (which was a huge mistake again but a long story, honestly I could write a novel on my pregnancies). I went into labour and it was so quick. They said it would be hours yet, examined me at 1.40am and said I was 4cm and could go to labour ward. Faffed around phoning my husband to come down from the accommodation (we had been transferred to a hospital hundreds of miles from home as our local one is MW led only and low risk) and then got a wheelchair which was broken and had to be put back for another. I only just got in the delivery room and was shouted at to get on the bed. I couldn't move! My husband and MW lifted me up onto the bed, she turned her back to read my notes and I said I needed to push and couldn't stop it. MW said no way as you're only 4cm and by this point his head was already born. He arrived 8 minutes after they examined me on the antenatal ward!

Do let us know how the consultant appointment goes!

Mummymoreton that sounds like a hard journey you've been through. I hope the nausea eases soon and all is ok. xx

Where are you from pingu. Were in Northamptonshire, uk. My 3rd was similar. I went in because contractions were 3 mins apart blah blah. They put me on the contraction/hear rate monitor thing to show a trainee how it's done. I had never been on one before but laying down made my contractions slow down so mw said I wasn't in Labour go home. I refused as we lived 45 mins away from hospital so would be 90 min round trip and I knew it would be a pointless load of stress for me. So she angrily sent me to maternity ward. I was upset because I couldn't understand how my contractions could feel so much like the baby would be born soon but then say I'm not in Labour. After she escorted us to my bed I waited for her to walk off and I grabbed the next midwife who walked past and was told its shift change wait half an hour. So I grabbed the next midwife after that and asked her to please listen to me, I'm in serious labour, she turned to my husband and asked him "is this what she looks like in Labour?" and he nodded looking scared lol. She agreed to check me but everyone on the ward was staring at us so she took me into a side room and checked. Yes your 5cm you can go back to Labour ward. Yay! She went to tell hubby to gathervour stuff but when she got back to me I was having such fast contractions I hadn't been able to move. Then my waters burst and I said baby, now. She panicked and pressed an alarm. Midwives ran in and shouted at me to get on the bed and don't push. They tried to push me out of the door on the bed with me on all 4s but Door was too small for the bed. I was calm and kept just saying "no, now, no, now" I was quite calm but they were freaking out. Hubby saw the chaos and came to find me. Baby just popped out there and then while they screamed don't push. Was only minutes since she said I was 5cm. I could tell from feel of contractions it wouldn't be long. Then they all bogged off and left me in a birth goo soaked bed and there was no after care. I cleaned myself up had shower, I think hubby dressed baby and I went off hunting for a midwife again. Insisted they discharge me which they eventually did after hours of waiting. The whole thing was awful. But it changed me as a person, I think it made me grow up and take control of my life more.

4Th was great, midwives came to my house and drank tea while I walked around until I said it's time then they caught the baby. It was wonderful. I really hope it's more like that again this time.

I live on an island in Scotland! So we get transferred to Aberdeen if there are any complications.

Gosh, well done for staying so calm. I remained relatively calm too but i was panicking a bit when they moved me to the labour ward, I thought baby was going to arrive in the corridor or lift!

I would love a home birth but unfortunately it probably won't be an option. I am fully expecting to be induced early again this time. I don't mind too much as long as they do whatever is safest for me and the baby.

I feel bad today as I had a bad headache yesterday and it turned into a migraine this morning. I gave in and took migraleve. I'm supposed to speak to my doctor first but they told me last time that as long as it was only occasionally it was ok to take them. Trying to rest now that my children are all at school but baby is having a party today it seems!

How old are you all? I'll be 36 soon and feel like I'm so old compared to everyone else who's having babies at the moment! When I was younger I always said 30 was my cut off. My 5th was born when I was 30 but didn't expect to be having another.

I'm 34 and we said 30 was our cut off too. Had number 4 at 30. I see a trend here! Lol

Sorry for the slow reply. I have been soooo busy I don't often get time to look on here. It's my treat to myself when I do lol.

I'm due 23rd December. 26 weeks today. In some ways it's going quick but in other ways it's dragging!
