I've never had a nose bleed once throughout my life, but since being pregnant I've noticed blood come from my nose whenever I wipe it or blow on a piece of tissue (especially lately).

It's only a little bit but still blood!
I have a feeling it's going to turn into a full blown nose bleed one of these days so has anyone got any advise if I do get one?

xxx

Me too, i dont think theres anything you can do hunny x x

I know there's nothing you can do to prevent them, I just mean what do I do if I do get one? Tilt head back is it? xxx

I don't think its that now, I think current advice is pressure on the top of your nose for several minutes with your head up or slightly forward, NOT backwards, I'm sure some of the nurses on here will know better though, hope it doesn't happen! xx

My DD and i suffer with nose bleeds all the time we actually have a cream that we have to use. The current advise is to pinch the fleshy part of your nose until the bleedibg stops, dont tilt your head back as the blood will go diwn your throat if you do.

no dont tilt head back lol they say now get in shower and let it run or put pressure on it but dont tilt hed back i have only had one bad nose bleed the others have been just when i wiped x

my little brother used to have them all the time! my mum got told at the hospital to put pressure on at the top and either keep head straight or lean forwards to help with the clotting process, and also the throat, noes and ears are all connected at the back of the throat, so will stop pressure going to the ears!

also good tip, cold water gets FRESH blood out of the majority of fabrics (do have to leave it to soak though) if left to dry might take a while!

Yep, like others have said, don't tip your head back! Blood down the back of the throat and into your stomach will probably make you sick. I got a really bad one in the middle of the night, I woke up and it was all over my WHITE pillowcase
I had to go and sit in the bathroom cos it didn't stop for ages! It's because the volume of blood in your body rises when pregnant and your blood vessels dilate xx

I'd never had one before being preg either! Then one day whoooosh there was blood all down my tshirt and there was no stopping it  came out of nowhere!

Hopefully you don't get too many xxx
