Hi ladies, did a little shopping today which obviously involved some walking, nothing too much, anyway my left hip started to hurt, it feels like when I walk the bone is grinding and sending pains down my thigh, I thought a little rest would help, but iv been crying with the pain tonight, it hurts just to walk now :-(

Any thoughts?

Aww so sorry to hear ur in such pain hun.

For the last couple of weeks, I noticed my hips, bum and upper legs get really sore in the evenings esp if I've been walking a lot during the day.
The only thing that KINDA eases it is lying in bed with a pillow between my legs.
I go to sleep and I'm a bit stiff when I get up in the night to pee and first thing in the morning, but it loosens up not long after I get up.
My husband also gives me lower back, bum and thigh massages, which is sore but a good sore iykwim lol

Sorry I'm not much help at all. Hope u get sorted though. X

Thanks jayjay, iv been saying how great I feel and how preg hasn't phased me and now this, iv just had a hot bath, let's hope I wake up and its gone...you never know! X

I get this if I have been walking a lot too. I think it's to do with the extra weight and pressure on your hips and pelvis due to LOs weight. Like Jayjay if I sleep with my maternity pillow between my legs and supporting my back the pain eases. Xx

Well I'm still in agony so gonna try and get in the docs, I'm actually.limping with the pain :-(

Aw that's no good at all. Hope the doc can sort u out x

Make sure you don't lie in bed with your hips straight (one on top of the other) as this can put pressure on your hips and the grate. Lie with one leg in from of the other and a pillow between them makes it do much comfier! If you don't already have one I can recommend mothercare's long one, it fits under your bump and between your legs perfectly. Hope you feel better soon xx

try and find a yoga class in your area, I am finding mine invaluable!

i also get sore hips when i lie flat on my back. When i stand up again I am like an old woman until everything straightens out! so I would say dont lie on your back, and if you do put a pillow beneath your knees to lift them a little. x
