Antihistamines and breast feeding

Does anyone know if we can take antihistamines while bf? The last two days my hay fever has kicked in big time my eyes are streaming nose running and sneezing like a trooper!!

Any ideas would be gratefully received x

I did as I have chronic urticaria, I only took them every 3/4 days as that's enough for me. The dr said if the benefit to you out weighs the risk to baby it's worth it and so little goes in to the milk x

i take them for my hayfever and was told it's fine to do so. No ill effects noticed in lo x

I have chronic urticaria and the doc wouldn't prescribe any for me saying it wasn't recommended by the manufacturers.

I could really really do with them as well

I asked my doc for hay fever tablets yesterday & she said best not as I'm breastfeeding but prescribed eye drops & a nasal spray. I actually wanted them for my OH as he keeps buying them & I get free prescriptions! Kinda threw me when she said no! He'll have to make do with the nasal spray!

I take chlorphenamine 4mg tablets. I've had urticaria for 14 years now wish it would bugger off!!

Mine is pregnancy related. Baby is 2 months old now, wish it would bog off!!
