Has anyone else got an anterior placenta?
Might explain why I'm not feeling regular kicks and can only feel; them in certain places?
Had this with my daughter and didn't feel her properly until about 24 weeks

I don't have an anterior placenta but I am similar in weeks to you and I don't really feel anything haha my MW told me some first time mums don't feel anything apart from the odd flutter until 24 weeks onwards though so I can't remember if you said you're FTM or have a child already haha xx

I've got two hahahah x
This pregnancy I felt baby at around 18/19 weeks, before that I think it was just gas O.O

Yes I do. This is my second anterior placenta. Last time I didn't feel baby at all until 21 weeks. This time I felt her really early but until recently (I'm 25wks now) I only felt kicks out to the side. I still don't have a regular pattern of movement but I think that's more to do with her being lazy and often facing the wrong way rather than the placenta

I had one with my daughter it was annoying! I felt baby early too this time but same as you normally to the sides! I suppose we will feel them more eventually..I could still see my daughters limbs poking out even with the placenta at the front, It's just annoying as makes scans harder, pics not as clear as my son and baby always has its face buried lol

I have a anterior placenta I felt movement around 14 weeks but nothing compared to my daughter. I kind of feel cheated as I feel I have missed out on alot of bonding especially with my oh and the baby. All movement was either very low down or the sides.
I'm 30 weeks now the majority of the movement is still low or the sides with the odd ribbing lol I wished I had this with my first pregnancy and not my second as I wouldn't have known any different first time around.

I have an anterior placenta again, both babies now  I started feeling flutters around 14 weeks and more definite movements around 16 weeks. All the movements are really low down and to the sides but with my first son towards 30 weeks I was feeling more kicks and movements all over xx

I'm only 12 weeks and was told yesterday I have this. Glad to find others to chat to about it as I'm worried I won't feel baby etc. This 8s my first so I'm worried about everything x

aw bless you, it's nothing to worry about :) I'm thankful mine is at the front and nowhere near the designated exit :rotfl:

I felt baby fairly early this time and can feel strong kicks now at 22 weeks but it's my 3rd (2nd anterior placenta) With my first I didn't really feel her until 24 weeks, but I was also very very overweight so this probably contributed!

I felt so much more with my son though where the placenta was at the back these kicks are still muffled in comparison... congrats! hope all goes well for you :)

Hi ladies , I’m 21 weeks with anterior placenta. First time mum . I definitely feel movement inside, but I wouldn’t call them ‘kicks’ my partner can’t feel them from outside either which is frustrating. Really hoping they get stronger soon so I can have no doubts what they are x I am too a little overweight so maybe that doesn’t help? I’m a size 14-16 xx

It's just good to know I'm not alone. I'll ve having monthly scans as ivf pregnancy so hopefully that will reassure me until I can feel kicks x

I had this with my first pregnancy! I didn't feel any movement until about 21/22 weeks into the pregnancy and that was the first time my husband felt the baby too!! I had nothing to compare it To, but I felt movement most of the time from then on. I wonder how different this pregnancy will be if my placenta isn't at the front!! Can't wait to feel the flutters!!xx

21 weeks is good for first time :) when I had my daughter it was 24 before I felt anything x
it always feels like nothing and then BOOM they're booting you in the bladder! :oooo:

they'll just get stronger I should imagine! Just wait til you have feet in your ribs :rotfl: so much fun x

Good I'm glad I will feel them eventually as was worried I'd struggle all the time and wouldn't know if something was wrong! I've heard scary stuff too like back labour and greater chance of that placenta prevaria (however you spell it) although my friend's a midwife and she said apart from muffled movement there's nothing much else to report

Also, does it have any impact on when you start showing? I'm just over 12 weeks and look a little bloated but that's it. I am a first time mum though so I guess that's why x

It shouldn't have any impact on anything else :)
It won't cause placenta previa as long as it's high up enough x

I was huge with both of my others so I couldn't say, but I'm 22 weeks with this one and I just look the same but a teeny bit bloated :/ I will add a pic of my 'bump' last week, but in all honestly It hasn't changed :wall:
the movements are muffled but mine are getting quite strong now! can definitely feel when it boots my bladder x

My belly last week with anterior placenta :/ trying to lose some weight so it might even vanish more! I've got a feeling some of that curve may just be food... x

I'm anterior. First pregnancy. First flutterings at week 14, no proper kicks until week 22.

I now, at 26 weeks, feel kicks and movements everywhere. Proper pattern and a very busy, active baby. I obviously have nothing to compare this to myself, but I don't think I'm that different to most at this point. I'm sure as you get further along, it will all change for you. xxx

I was told at my 20 week scan that I have an anterior placenta. The midwife asked if I'd felt any movement or kicks yet and when I told her I have felt some movements she told me I won't feel anything until 26 weeks. This may be my first pregnancy but I know for sure what I'm feeling is my baby moving!

Um, ignore the 26 weeks thing. What a load of bollocks! You know when it's baby. Xxx
