another question on sweeps

i know there have been so many questions on sweeps and everything must have been covered on the subject over the forums by now but i have to ask is it really possible to actually do it yourself .. well with the help of someone elses fingers. i have never fancied the idea of sticking my own fingers up there

my mum keeps on suggesting i try it can't believe my mum is telling me to do that i think 37 weeks is a bit early to be playing up there but i might get bf to have a very gentle feel up there later see if anything is going on. my mum is willing him to come early as she goes away for 2 weeks next weekend but i don't want to be forcing him out i want him to come when he is ready to. knowing my luck he will be overdue but thats his choice

i am right in thinking 37 weeks is too early to start messing up there?
any other views on diy sweeps ??

I think people have tried...Some would say don't. A lady in my latent phase thread in ask a mum said her sister looked it up online and did it herself. Not sure how far she was. There is a risk of infection though.....

I'd not try it now. You are not close to 40 weeks and tbh MW's don't do it unless the cervix is favourable. So no point trying unless its defo that.

I'm of the opinion baby will arrive when ready

A sweep is a form of induction fwiw

Also risk of infection etc. I'd leave well alone and if you do want one wait till your MW is happy its the right time and let her do it.

i'd agree, there's gotta be a reason MF decides not to do it.
Just have sex a lot, would that help, lol

yes i think your all right it is too risky last thing i need is an infection or harming myself or baby in some way. best left to the professionals. sex sex and more sex it shall be then
