Me and my OH have already told everyone we are close to that we are expecting. We had a private scan today and apparently baby is measuring 6+3, I think I'm 6+5 though taking into consideration when my last period was and the length of my cycle. ANYWAY, my OH has just gone and posted scan photo on facebook and tagged me so now the whole world knows! Bit worried that we've announced so soon, I would have waited until our dating scan.

If everyone knows now then the only thing u can do is embrace the fact that your other half is a proud expectant father :) try and think positive about it all and if anything does happen you will have plenty of support from it. Good luck with everything xxx

I'm about the same as you, we've told our closest friends, immediate family and I've told my bosses :)

God I would be so annoyed ha ha. Hope all goes well for you.

I'm only 5 weeks and we announced to our friends and family already. It's nice to have the support there :-) I did have someone make a comment of have you had a scan oh it's a bit early isn't it? But there's no law as to when you can announce a pregnancy!! We had an early scan with my lg and announced around 8 weeks :-)

It's only in the last 20years or so that people have waited until 12 weeks to announce anyway. My mum always goes on at me that they used to tell the world as soon as they did the test!!!

Tbh I'd probably be a little "eek" but it's done and I definitely agree that you should embrace the floods of congratulations that will come your way x

When I was pregnant with my dd, everyone found out at 8wks because my dad had no idea that everyone could see stuff that he posted on my fb wall!! He kept hinting at me being pregnant and ppl started private mailing me asking if I was and I kept trying to throw them off the scent. Then I was hospitalised with HG and he put that on my fb too so there was no hiding it then lol.
It was a little scary having people know so early on but had anything gone wrong I would have had heaps of support so I tried to focus on the positives x

Lovely that your OH is proud to share this special news!!
We told everybody two days after a pos test.. Can't keep a secret & nor can my mum so was common knowledge before I was 5 weeks!

I'm now 20wks pregnant with a baby girl so she stuck with me & chances are your little one will hold on tight :) xxx

My mother has the biggest gob ever, I told her straight away. Everyone's known since I've been 4/5 weeks. Xxx

Awh it's nice to hear all your replies!

I'm so happy that he is happy about it. He does seem very excited. I got him watching one born every minute last night and apart from the occasional comments of 'that's disgusting, that babies head looks like an aliens, OMG IS HE NOT BREATHING HE'S BLUE' he was really excited about the whole birth.

I'm embracing it now, the girls I dance with have obviously all seen FB so given me flowers and chocolates and stuff. I felt rather spoilt.

I'm dying to tell the world! But we haven't told OH's parents yet (trying to get them both together on an evening is proving difficult), telling them in the next couple of days though.

My OH won't watch One born every minute! He thinks it's disgusting too...told him that come September he may need to rethink his stance or else things will get awkward in the hospital....and he may end up with a black eye.

We told everyone in first and second pregnancy at 12 weeks apart from my husbands (now ex) parents. They didn't approve of us having children. So they only found out I was pregnant when I lost the first and I think we told them when I was about 25 weeks with second. His step mum was like 'yeah i noticed she was pregnant ages ago' his dad was like 'have you considered having an abortion' lovely people right?

The man I'm with now has a nice decent family though so haven't had that problem this time round.

I think my OH ended up enjoying one born every minute ya know. He likes to know everything about everything. He has said there is no way he will be there if I have a c section though so looks like im having two birth partners just in case

Ugh that's vile! What horrible people! I would have been reluctant to tell even when I was on the way to the hospital...

Hey, I don't even want to be in the room if I have a c-section! :p He'd probably change his mind if that happened though, men are quite surprising after all. My OH has gone from being firmly against my pregnancy and it being the end of the world (at 5 weeks), to being the happiest dad-to-be in the world!

My ex husband has now turned into his dad, he is a vile vile man. Weird how someone can go from being the most caring, sensitive, lovely man you've ever met into someone completely horrible.

I'd really rather not have a c-section, that is last last last resort. The first time they suggest it I will be asking if it will be ok to wait and see how labour progresses and if they say I really do need one then fine but otherwise I will be waiting it out. He reckons he won't change his mind on it, I think I can convince him though, I will tell him that I need him there and to just not look! He is a bit fickle, I said I like the name Evie for a girl, his first reaction was 'why do you hate our child already', mentioned it last night as if I'd never said it before and he thinks it's the most beautiful name now and if it's a girl it's now 100% Evie! He so thinks that it was his decision bless him.

That's sweet your OH is happy now. Men are strange creatures
