amniotic fluid

Hello everybody! I have a question re amniotic fluid leakage: I noticed this morning that after doing some light exercizes my panties were pretty wet (but not from sweating). I am worried that I might be leaking amniotic fluid. How do you tell the difference between amniotic fluid and urine? This was a bit whitish in colour with no particular smell. Sorry if topic is horrible but I am worried.

i think amniotic fluid is clear and kinda sweet-smelling, whereas urine is kinda briney?!
if its whitish colour could it be normal discharge?
call in ur antenatal clinic if ur worried. xx

Maybe i could advise..

i was examined on tuesday and was told my waters were going.. it was clear with white streaks in it.. and as trixi said sweet smelling..

Then on wednesday more waters came away, they did a test and confirmed it was my waters so maybe you should go and get checked out hun cos your a little early to be loosing fluid now..

Thank you girls for you answers. I monitored the leak and it seems to have stopped after that morning. My problem is that I am not in the UK now (am going back on Sunday) and wanted to avoid going to see unfamiliar doctors while I was on holiday. So, I phoned my MW in the UK and she said if I feel fine and if baby is still moving normally, wait until next week and then come to see her. I feel a bit reassured now. Anyway, thanks for your help!
