I can't help my clique-iness I am afraid.........it Fransmelles fault, she makes me laugh too much!!!!

Yay my Eve has returned :cheer:[/quote]

We are sad, but at least we admit it!!!!!!!

I dont think its cliquey as such, i think people do have the posters they chat tp more and get on with but were not at school so you just work it out.
Im not guna cry because the more popular posters dont want to speak to me or reply to my threads, becasue there are others that will and so not bothrered.

I will go in any section and will continue to do so.

Who are popular posters- I really haven't noticed :? I'll answer anyones posts :)

I only joined last week and i can honestly say that I've not noticed any cliqueness (sp) at all. Quite the opposite in fact!

I think everyone is really nice and friendly and if you join in a conversation with the popular posters or the newbies you still get welcomed in regardless.

Does it really matter if one girl talks to another more often or through another channel......NOPE!!!

I like it here so please be nice to each other.

:D

Thanks Chrissy, its nice to know that theres nothing putting of new members, and welcome

I just think that theres people who post a lot and people who dont. If you post a lot its only natural that more people reply to you, not because its you but because youve posted every where. I dont look at who posted things, i look at the topic and if it looks interesting i have a look. If im bored i will look at them all.

Like if i posted 6 threads and some one posted 1 i have more chance of people replying to one of mine. :)

I don't think it's cliquey. Certainly not compared to other forums I've been on, where if you haven't been a member for more than 6 months no one will answer your posts.
however i feel the need to join a clique now. A clique made up of one person. Me

I agree hun.

And TBH it's all a bit childish isn't it? Oooo she speaks to her but not to me.......I mean come on we're all adults here aren't we? I'm beginning to feel like I'm in a school playground when I come into Off Topic lately.

OMG its so sad!!!!

its only the bloody internet!!!!

do people not have real lifes?
that they take it to heart that some people have closer friends then others on a forum?

there are so many new members nowa days i hardly no any ttc'ers or pregnant people i stick with who i know and who i have things in coman with, if something catches my eye else where prem babies reflux etc then i will reply as it interestes me the rest i dont bother with else i would sit on here 24/7 replying to every one and abandon my kids!

im not loosing no sleep over who i do and dont reply to

Waouh i read everything, i didn't think the forum was cliquey (is "cliquey even a word?? :rotfl: )

do you think I am in a clique?

I think the thing is that whilst some people just shrug this off as just the internet for some it is more then that. I know when I was first on here I knew no-one else who had children. Therefore when I asked a question it was really important to me, and yes it did hurt when no-one answered. Things have changed for me now and I don't spend as much time on here and I have more confidence in my own abilities but I can understand why some people do get hurt. Instead of arguing about it, why not just make an effort to talk to more people. Don't just dismiss others feelings as you don't feel it or agree.

Well said hun :D

Its already been said before but i think some people tend to be closer to those who they can relate to i.e the TTCers, 1st tri, 2nd tri etc.
However some people are sort of spread out, for example, i use the first year section and the TTC section.
Some pepole just have a natural affinity to other chracters and therefore robably become more friendly with them.
In regards to how many posts a person recieves, i have to admit sometimes i posta reply to a question that people always ask and sometimes i wont. The reason is that I dont want other members thinking im always repeating myself about a certain situation.
If i dont get many replies to posts i just look in the search bit and see if someone else has asked a similar question and have a look to see if i can get answers from their replies.

i have never onced looked at a persns thread and not replied because of the member who posted it. neither have i looked at my threads and though that 'popular' people havent posted on it. I really apprciated when anyone replies to my threads and dont expect everyone to drop everything to reply either.

Those who are annoyed about the 'cliques' i doubt that any of you reply to all the posts that you read. Please dont take it to heart if someone doesnt reply to your thread, there is no malicious intent behind it. :(

I think it's inevitable that groups are going to form on here, but that's not a bad thing. It's just because there are people in different situations wanting to talk about things that are common to everyone in the group, like others have already said, ie, first tri, ttc etc.

I think compared to a lot of other forums this one is really friendly.
I'm sure a lot of the time when posts aren't answered it's down to time restrictions (there are too many boards to read all of them, there are loads of boards I've never even looked at)

The word cliquey draws a picture of somewhere really bitchy and uninviting and IMO that is definately not happening here :D

I havent read all 6 pages of this but I can honestly say I dont think this forum is clicky. Ive been a member since Dec 05 and yes, there are groups of people who seem to stick together more but this is only natural as they have stuff in common or came on at the same time.

This wee kind of fight raises its head everynow and then and people shouldnt look into it too much.

For instance, people would say they didnt like mother and toddler groups at first because thet found them clicky. I was a bit like that but now after having been there a while I see that its just the groups that people form based on when they joined and what they have in common.

Lets all have a good laugh and support others.
